Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI)

Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT) Group is seeking a Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI) to provide expert supervision of all Theoretical Knowledge Instructors (TKI) and ensure the standardization of EASA ATO theoretical training. The successful candidate will lead efforts to maintain high instructional standards across our European locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all theoretical knowledge training syllabi and examinations adhere to applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and coordinate innovative training concepts.
  • Conduct training and standardization performance evaluations for theory instructors, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  • Update training materials in alignment with current regulations and aviation best practices.
  • Monitor compliance with legal requirements and internal standards for both staff and students.
  • Harmonize work processes and documentation within Operations Manuals (OM) and Training Manuals (TM) across all company locations.
  • Analyze feedback to develop, suggest, and implement optimization measures for training standards.
  • Provide technical management for TKIs based in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Requirements

  • Valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
  • Substantial professional experience as a Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI).
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of EASA Part-FCL and Part-ORA regulations, as well as general aviation laws and internal training organization requirements.
  • Experience as a Type Rating Instructor (TRI) or Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) is considered an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and resilience skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary, intercultural, and goal-oriented environments.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities and a proactive willingness to take responsibility.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Framework Conditions

Recruitment is facilitated through a local employment contract with LAT OPS DE, LAT AT, or LAT CH.
