Position Summary:

The Captain, serving as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), holds a critical role within Lowe's Aviation. The primary responsibility is ensuring safe and efficient air transportation for Lowe's Companies, Inc. and its subsidiaries. This position requires strict adherence to the Lowe’s Companies, Inc. Aviation Operations Manual (AOM), as well as all applicable FAA regulations. The Captain will conduct comprehensive weather briefings, meticulously plan fuel requirements, and file flight plans. They will oversee all transportation logistics and maintain the highest standards of safety for passengers, crew, and cargo. The role directly contributes to the efficient utilization of the company's fleet, enabling timely transport of key personnel for critical business operations. In addition to flight duties, the Captain will share in ancillary tasks within the Aviation Department.

Responsibilities:

  • When designated as PIC, assumes full administrative and operational responsibility for all crew members, ensuring each has a clear understanding of their duties.
  • Ensures that all flight operations are performed in accordance with the Lowe's Aviation Operations Manual, CFRs, foreign country regulations, and company policies.
  • Delegates tasks as needed to the Second-in-Command to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
  • Serves as the Pilot in Command (PIC), holding ultimate authority over the operation of the aircraft.
  • Maintains ultimate accountability for the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flights.
  • Actively participates in the Safety Management System.
  • Confirms the aircraft's airworthiness, registration, and that all required documentation is onboard.
  • Reviews current weather conditions and all applicable NOTAMs; determines fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements.
  • Calculates aircraft weight and balance.
  • Ensures databases are up-to-date.
  • Confirms Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) are updated and sufficiently charged for each flight.
  • Verifies that all flight planning requirements are met.
  • Confirms that all crewmembers have valid certificates, Medical Certificates, passports, and visas, when required.
  • Ensures no flight commences if a crewmember is unfit to fly due to injury, sickness, fatigue, or any psychoactive substance.
  • Ensures no flight continues beyond the nearest suitable airport if a crewmember's capacity is compromised by fatigue, sickness, or lack of oxygen.
  • Identifies any nonstandard environmental rules and procedures at departure and destination airports.
  • Conducts thorough preflight inspections before each departure.
  • Delivers the required passenger safety briefings.
  • Operates the aircraft according to Lowe's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, and within aircraft limitations.
  • Constantly monitors usable fuel levels to ensure safe landings with proper reserves and communicates with ATC during irregular situations.
  • Ensures compliance with customs, immigration, and cabotage laws.
  • Completes all post-flight duties, including reporting deviations to any planned itinerary, schedule, or overnight location.
  • Records flight times and aircraft defects.
  • Reports all known or suspected FAA violations or incidents to the Chief Pilot and/or Director of Aviation promptly.
  • Reports any act of unlawful interference to the FAA or State (Mandatory Occurrence Report), as necessary, and to the appropriate local authority.
  • Reports any encountered hazardous weather or flight conditions that may impact the safety of other aircraft to the relevant ATC facility.
  • Preserves flight and cockpit voice recorder data in the event of an accident or incident.
  • Notifies the relevant authorities of any aircraft accident promptly (unless the PIC is incapacitated, in which case the responsibility falls to the Director of Aviation or senior flight crewmember).
  • Participates in additional departmental duties within one of the following functional areas: Training, Standards, Data Management, International Operations, and Security. These duties are assigned by the Chief Pilot and rotated among Captains to foster professional development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time
  • Minimum of 2,000 hours of multi-engine flight time
  • Ability to handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • First Class Medical Certificate

  • Bachelor's Degree
