Job Overview: B777 Captains at China Southern Air Cargo

China Southern Air Cargo is seeking highly qualified B777 type-rated Captains to operate its expanding B777F fleet. Based in Guangzhou, China, this position represents a significant opportunity within a subsidiary of China Southern Air, the fifth-largest airline globally by fleet size.

Successful candidates will enter into a two-year renewable contract, with all provided remuneration stated in net (after-tax) terms. The role includes access to comprehensive group medical insurance, emergency medical coverage, and travel benefits.

Candidate Requirements

  • Current rating on B777 or B787 aircraft.
  • Minimum of 1,000 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours on B777/B787.
  • Must have served as a Commander on the specified type within the last six months.
  • Minimum of 3,000 total PIC hours.
  • Minimum of 6,000 total flight hours.
  • Maximum age of 55 at the time of commencement.
  • Valid ATPL from a country with diplomatic relations with the PRC.
  • Valid First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Valid passport from a country with diplomatic relations with the PRC.
  • Clean safety record with no history of incidents or accidents.
  • No criminal record.
  • ICAO English Level 4 or above.

Benefits and Compensation

The contract features a commuting roster consisting of 10 days off in a block per month, plus 20 days of annual leave. The guaranteed block time is 720 hours per year.

Remuneration Structure (Net of Chinese Tax):

Captains Rank: New Captain / Leading Captain (Lv1) / Leading Captain (Lv2)
Monthly Base Salary: US$2,000 (all ranks)
Hourly Fee: US$221.8 (New) / US$245.6 (Lv1) / US$257.5 (Lv2)
Monthly Allowances: US$1,060 (all ranks)
Estimated Total Monthly Package (at 60-75 hours): US$16,834–US$22,963 depending on rank and block hours.
