First Officer - Loganair (UK Regional Airline)

Loganair, the UK's largest regional airline, is seeking a highly motivated and professional First Officer to join its esteemed flight crew. This critical role involves working in close collaboration with the Captain to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all flights across our diverse network.

Key Responsibilities:

The First Officer's primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist the Captain throughout all flight phases, including pre-flight briefings, comprehensive flight planning, and precise aircraft performance calculations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to ascertain aircraft airworthiness and ensure all required documentation is complete.
  • Operate the aircraft strictly in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies, and all applicable aviation regulations.
  • Continuously monitor weather conditions, maintain effective communication with Air Traffic Control (ATC), and implement necessary adjustments to flight plans for optimal safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain meticulous flight records, including flight logs, duty times, and maintenance discrepancies.
  • Adhere rigorously to all safety procedures, encompassing pre-flight safety checks, emergency briefings, and full compliance with aviation safety regulations.
  • Provide essential assistance during emergency situations, including coordination of evacuations, aircraft securing procedures, and comprehensive support to passengers and crew.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to passengers, ensuring a comfortable and positive flight experience.
  • Actively participate in recurrent training programs to continuously maintain and enhance professional skills, knowledge, and qualifications.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for continuous professional growth and career advancement within the company.

Minimum Qualifications & Essential Criteria:

  • Eligible to live and work indefinitely in the UK.
  • Possession of a valid passport permitting unrestricted worldwide travel.
  • English language proficiency to ICAO Level 4 or above.
  • Holder of a current UK CAA Licence, including Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR), Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (A-UPRT), and Multi-Crew Co-operation (MCC) Certificate.
  • Holder of a valid and current UK CAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous customer service experience.

  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Employment Basis: Full-time
  • Contracted Weekly Hours: Flight Time Limitations (FTL) compliant
  • Starting Salary: £39,843.00 per annum
