Job Overview
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Lead, Flight Operations – RC-135 Pilot to join its team in Greenville, Texas. This pivotal role provides critical support to the U.S. Air Force, overseeing and conducting essential ground and flight test activities for RC-135 and variant aircraft. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in validating developmental, functional, structural, and system modifications, ensuring the highest standards of operational readiness and mission effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
The Lead, Flight Operations – RC-135 Pilot will be responsible for a comprehensive range of flight and operational duties, including but not limited to:
- Conducting and supporting all ground and flight test activities for RC-135 and variant aircraft.
- Performing Functional Check Flights (FCFs) to validate aircraft modifications and system performance.
- Leading the comprehensive mission planning for all flight-related activities.
- Serving as command or co-pilot, leading flight test operations and crew during missions.
- Providing flight and mission instruction and evaluation, ensuring aircrew proficiency and adherence to standards.
- Performing Mission Monitor duties as required.
- Supporting local flight operations, which may include flight scheduling for various programs.
- Taking ownership and responsibility for the maintenance of Center Ops Online (COOL) training records.
- Providing oversight for the aircrew Standardization and Evaluation (STAN/EVAL) program.
- Developing strategic plans and policies, monitoring operational execution, and providing expert advice to the Director of Operations.
- Performing staff functions related to flight operations within the assigned program.
- Demonstrating willingness and ability to work various shifts and weekends as needed to meet company objectives.
- Maintaining worldwide deployable status, with travel up to 30% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of an active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
- A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior relevant experience is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as an RC-135 pilot.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an RC-135 instructor pilot.
- At least 1 year of experience as an RC-135 Instructor and Functional Check Flight (FCF) Pilot.
- At least 1 year of experience as an RC-135 Evaluator and Command Pilot.
- At least 1 year of experience with depot level flight testing, FCFs, and aircraft modifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Air Force Standardization and Evaluation processes.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Familiarity with USAF flight instructions, operations processes, and Center Ops Online (COOL).
- A minimum of 1500 flying hours on the RC-135 aircraft.
Physical Demands
- Ability to pass and maintain a FAA Class II Flight Physical.
- Capability to move up to 50 lbs. up to 5% of the time.
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders up to 5% of the time.
