L3Harris-Aeromet is established within the DoD Community as the developer and operator of special mission ISR systems. We provide special mission system design, modification, and operations with emphasis on the development and integration of state-of-the-art EO/IR sensor systems.
Job Description:
Will be a dedicated resource that will participate in all aspects of operating special mission sensor aircraft in support of Missile Defense Agency testing. The work involves extensive over-water oceanic operations and work as part of a small team of pilots. Full time responsibility located at L3 Harris Aeromet’s Tulsa, OK Facility; however will be required to travel to support operations worldwide with occasional deployment times of up to 30 days or more. Typical deployments are 10-14 days. Travel varies but is typically 35-40% annually.
Pilot will perform as a Captain/Co-captain operating two highly modified Gulfstream IIB and eventually three highly modified Gulfstream G550 aircraft in support of Missile Defense Agency testing. Work involves extensive over-water oceanic operations and work as part of a small team of pilots. Initially will be operating the GIIB aircraft and eventually transitioning to the replacement Gulfstream 550 aircraft as they come online. Additional duties will include participating in mission planning meetings,required safety meetings, and coordinating test airspace.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following duties:
+ After an initial indoctrination and training period, perform as a Co-Captain on unique GIIB special mission sensor aircraft operated by Aeromet.
+ As replacement G550 aircraft become operational, the captain will eventually transition to the G550. Potentially will be tasked with operating both types for some period until the legacy GIIB aircraft are retired.
+ Safely conduct training and operate the aircraft in accordance with all applicable FAA regulations and DCMA 8210 requirements.
+ Maintain professional standards of conduct at all times.
+ Able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours and travel worldwide as required to support mission requirements. Subject to on call status with a two-hour recall.
+ Proficient using MS-Office (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, and Outlook)
+ US Citizenship required.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
+ Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.

Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, Aerospcae or related field and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
+ Must have an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license with Multi-engine Rating
+ Must have a valid First-Class FAA medical certificate.
+ Must have a clean aviation accident and FAA violation record.
+ Never had any designation or ratings suspended or revoked.
+ Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
+ Minimum of 1000 hours Jet PIC experience

Preferred Additional Skills:
+ Gulfstream G1159 and/or G550 type rating
+ Experience with Gulfstream aircraft
+ Bachelors degree in Aviation, Aerospace or related field
