Reports To: Chief Pilot

Position Overview

The First Officer plays a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of aircraft under the direction of the Captain. This position requires diligent adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies and procedures, utilizing effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) techniques to support the flight crew and ensure the highest standards of safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections of the aircraft and cargo.
  • Assisting the flight crew with necessary flight planning, documentation, and other administrative tasks.
  • Operating the aircraft in strict accordance with established company procedures, regulations, and policies.
  • Actively monitoring and identifying any potentially unsafe conditions on the ground or during flight operations, and promptly alerting the crew.
  • Performing comprehensive post-flight inspections of the aircraft.

Qualifications

  • FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or Restricted Multi-Engine ATP Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2500 hours of total flight time.
  • Minimum of 1500 hours of turbine (jet) flight time.
  • Minimum of 500 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) turbine (jet) flight time.
  • Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Valid FCC Radio License.
  • Current US Passport with no restrictions on international travel.
  • Ability to successfully pass a 10-year security background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Military Pilot Experience Consideration:

  • Minimum of 1000 hours of total flight time for military pilots. Turbine and PIC hour requirements may be flexible based on experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4000+ hours of total flight time.
  • Previous experience operating under FAR Part 121 regulations.
  • Post-secondary education.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and fluently understand spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency in writing routine reports and professional correspondence.

  • Capability to work in a confined area for extended periods.

Work Environment

Duties are performed both inside and outside of the cockpit, requiring the ability to work in a wide variety of meteorological conditions, including exposure to extreme cold and heat.
