Job Overview
Kalitta Charters, a reputable provider of top-quality aviation services since 2001, is actively recruiting experienced and qualified Captains to join its distinguished team. Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- An aviation-related college degree is preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and Documentation:
- A valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- A valid, unrestricted U.S. passport.
- First Class Medical Certificate.
- FAA Commercial Pilot License with an Instrument Rating.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 2,000 hours of total flight time.
- Minimum of 1,000 hours of multi-engine flight time.
- Previous Captain (PIC) type rating in LR-JET, LR-45, and/or DA-20 is preferred.
Work Environment and Culture Attributes:
- Proficiency in basic MS Office, computer software, and internet navigation.
- Must successfully pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screening and a DOT/FAA compliant background check.
- Candidates should demonstrate motivation, resourcefulness, energy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage both independently and collaboratively.
- Punctuality, reliability, and flexibility are essential.

Physical Requirements:
- Employees will regularly be required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and utilize hands and fingers to operate computer and telephone equipment.
- Must possess the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and be willing to assist with aircraft loading and unloading as necessary.
Location and Schedule
Operations are based at Willow Run Airport (YIP) in Ypsilanti, MI, with a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation. Remote work is not an option, and relocation assistance is not provided.
Shift Requirements
A two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotating yearly schedule is in effect. Availability to work weekends and holidays is mandatory. Full-time commitment and availability for assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, are required.
