Jet Linx invites highly qualified aviation professionals to apply for the position of Second in Command (SIC) supporting the operation of the Citation V light jet aircraft. This critical role ensures the safe and efficient execution of both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations.
The successful candidate is required to reside, or be willing to relocate, within a two-hour call-out time of the designated home base.
Position Summary
The Second in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. The SIC is professionally responsible for assisting in the preparation, execution, and oversight of all company flight operations, ensuring the utmost safety and efficiency in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The SIC performs the following core duties:
- Diligent management of duty, flight, and rest times in compliance with both company standards and Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintaining continuous communication with the company regarding standby assignments, trip notifications, position reporting, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight documentation.
- Ensuring the meticulous maintenance and management of all Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and associated applications.
- Verifying that all necessary navigation charts, publications, and company operational manuals are current and readily accessible.
- Maintaining an active and current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrating superior, proactive, and timely decision-making abilities throughout all phases of flight.

Minimum Pilot Requirements
Candidates must meet the following minimum flight hour requirements:
- Total Time: 1,500 hours
- Total Pilot-in-Command (PIC): 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine: 500 hours
- Total PIC Multi-Engine: 25 hours
- Total Turbine: 100 hours
- Total Instrument: 150 hours
Qualifications and Operational Requirements
- Possession of a current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Possession of or ability to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Possession of a valid FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Ability to release and successfully pass an FAA Pilot Record Database review with a System Chief Pilot.
- Current passport with unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and consent to random drug and alcohol testing when required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.
- Preferred Qualification: Initial or Recurrent 142 training in the Citation V type within the preceding 24 months is strongly preferred.
Work Environment and Compensation
The majority of work is completed within and around aircraft and aircraft terminal environments. The position requires the physical ability to frequently move and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits
Jet Linx provides a highly competitive compensation structure and comprehensive benefits package. The starting base annual salary for this SIC position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000. Actual base salary provided is dependent upon geographic location, aircraft specifics, and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
