Second in Command (SIC) Pilot – Citation XLS/XLS+

Jet Linx is actively seeking highly skilled and experienced candidates for the position of Second in Command (SIC) Pilot, responsible for operating the Midsize jet aircraft fleet, specifically the Citation XLS/XLS+. This full-time position supports both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. The successful applicant must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Atlanta, GA base area, maintaining a committed response time within a 2-hour call-out radius of the home base.
Position Summary
The Second in Command (SIC) Pilot reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the Pilot in Command in preparing for and executing the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. All duties must be performed in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The SIC Pilot is expected to expertly manage complex operational duties, including but not limited to:
- Rigorously manage duty, flight, and rest times to comply with both company standards and Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintain consistent and proactive communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, positional calls, and required pre- and post-flight reports.
- Effectively manage Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications, ensuring operational readiness.
- Ensure that all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company operational manuals are current and readily accessible.
- Maintain a current 1st Class Medical Certificate at all times.
- Demonstrate strong, proactive, and sound decision-making skills under operational pressures.

Minimum Candidate Requirements
Prospective candidates must meet or exceed the following flight hour prerequisites:
- Total Time: 1,500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine: 500 hours
- Total Turbine: 100 hours
- Total Instrument: 150 hours
Additional Professional Requirements
To be considered for this prestigious role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- The ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is required.
- A current 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Possession of an FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and the ability to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
- Must hold a current passport and possess unrestricted ability to travel internationally, specifically to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Initial or Recurrent 142 training in type (Citation XLS/XLS+) within the preceding 24 months is strongly preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as demanded by flight operations.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and consent to random drug/alcohol testing as mandated.
- The candidate must be able to release their records and pass an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
Physical Demands
The majority of work is completed in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals. This role requires the frequent ability to move up to 50 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits Package
Jet Linx is committed to offering a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package to all team members. The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000. The finalized base salary provided is dependent upon factors including geographic location, aircraft size, and the relevant education, training, and experience demonstrated by the candidate.
