Second in Command – Citation Latitude

Job Type: Full-Time | Location: Teterboro, NJ

Jet Linx is actively seeking highly qualified and experienced Second in Command (SIC) candidates to join its dedicated aviation team. This pivotal full-time role supports both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations aboard a Super Midsize jet aircraft, specifically the Citation Latitude. The successful candidate will be expected to reside, or be willing to relocate, within a two-hour call-out radius of the Teterboro, NJ home base to ensure operational readiness.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command (SIC) is entrusted with the critical responsibility of preparing for and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of company aircraft. This includes strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures, contributing significantly to the overall operational excellence and safety culture of Jet Linx.

Minimum Flight Time Requirements

  • Total Time: 1500 hours
  • Total Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
  • Total Multi-Engine: 500 hours
  • Total Turbine: 100 hours
  • Total Instrument: 150 hours

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The Second in Command will perform a comprehensive range of crucial duties, including:

  • Proactively managing duty, flight, and rest times to ensure full compliance with both company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
  • Maintaining consistent and timely communication with company operations regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
  • Proficiently maintaining and managing electronic flight bag (EFB) hardware and all associated applications to ensure peak operational readiness.
  • Ensuring all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company operational manuals are current, accessible, and fully compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Holding and meticulously maintaining a current First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Consistently demonstrating strong, proactive decision-making skills and sound judgment in all operational scenarios.
  • Upholding and exemplifying Jet Linx’s core values and commitment to excellence in every interaction and operational aspect.

Qualifications and Other Requirements

Candidates for the Second in Command position should possess the following essential qualifications and attributes:

  • Possession of an Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • Possession of an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • A current, valid passport with unrestricted travel capabilities to all EU, Canada, and Caribbean countries.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and willingness to submit to random drug and alcohol testing when required.
  • Ability to release and successfully pass a comprehensive FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational demands and flight schedules require.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent extensive work experience is required.
  • Preferred Qualification: Initial or Recurrent Part 142 training in the Citation Latitude type within the last 24 months.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • The majority of work is conducted in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals, often involving varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to frequently move and lift up to 50 pounds, assisting with baggage and equipment as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Jet Linx offers a highly competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package designed to attract and retain top aviation talent. The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $124,000 to $160,000. The actual base salary provided will be commensurate with the candidate’s geographic location, aircraft size (crew positions), relevant education, training, and experience.
