Second in Command (SIC) - Citation XLS/XLS+ Pilot
Location: Full-Time, Denver, CO
Jet Linx is actively seeking highly qualified and motivated aviation professionals for the position of Second in Command (SIC) on our Midsize jet aircraft, specifically the Citation XLS/XLS+. This pivotal role supports both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. The successful candidate must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Denver base area, ensuring the ability to meet a stringent 2-hour call-out time from their designated home base.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command (SIC) plays a critical role in the preparation and execution of safe and efficient company aircraft operations. This individual ensures strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures, contributing significantly to flight safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Proactively manage duty, flight, and rest periods in strict compliance with both company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with Jet Linx for standby duty assignments, timely trip notifications, accurate position calls, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
- Oversee the maintenance and management of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Verify the currency of all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company operational manuals.
- Hold and maintain a current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrate strong, proactive, and sound decision-making abilities in all operational scenarios.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following flight experience requirements:
- Total Time: 1500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Additional Requirements and Preferred Attributes
- Possession of initial or recurrent FAA Part 142 training in the Citation XLS/XLS+ type within the last 24 months is highly preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Demonstrated eligibility to work legally in the United States.
- Possession of a current, valid passport.
- Hold or demonstrate the ability to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Maintain a current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Possess an FCC Restricted Radio Telephone Operator Permit.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and consent to random drug and alcohol testing as required by regulations and company policy.
- Unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to Canada and various Caribbean countries.
- Ability to authorize and successfully pass a thorough FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience is required.
- The majority of work will be conducted within and around aircraft and airport terminals, necessitating physical presence in these environments.
- Ability to frequently move and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits

The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000. The actual base salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's geographic location, specific aircraft size and crew position, and their demonstrated relevant education, training, and experience.
