Second in Command – Lear 45
Jet Linx is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to serve as Second in Command (SIC) on its Midsize jet aircraft, operating under both Part 91 and 135 regulations. This full-time position is based in Omaha, NE, and requires the candidate to reside or be willing to relocate within a two-hour call-out radius of the base.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command is instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. This role requires adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures. The SIC will actively participate in all aspects of flight preparation and execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Total Flight Time: 1500 hours
- Pilot-in-Command Time: 500 hours
- Multi-Engine Flight Time: 500 hours
- Turbine Flight Time: 100 hours
- Instrument Flight Time: 150 hours
Essential Functions:
- The candidate must manage duty, flight, and rest times in accordance with both company and CFR guidelines.
- Maintain seamless communication with the company for all standby assignments, trip notifications, position reports, and pre- and post-flight reporting.
- Responsible for the upkeep and management of electronic flight bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Ensure the currency of all navigation charts, publications, and company manuals.
- Maintain a current 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrate strong and proactive decision-making capabilities.
- Embody and uphold Jet Linx’s core values in all interactions.
Additional Requirements:
- Preference will be given to candidates with initial or recurrent 142 training in the Lear 45 within the last 24 months.
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Possess a current valid passport.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an ATP certificate.
- Must hold a current 1st Class Medical certificate.
- Must possess an FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and be willing to submit to random drug/alcohol testing when required.
- Must possess unrestricted ability to travel to Canada and the Caribbean.
- Must successfully complete an FAA Pilot Record Database review with a System Chief Pilot.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Be comfortable working in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
