Jet Linx, a leading private aviation company, is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pilot in Command for its Light jet aircraft, specifically the CJ3, based in Indianapolis, Indiana. This critical full-time role involves conducting Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations, ensuring the utmost safety and efficiency for our discerning clients. A unique logistical requirement for this position is the expectation that the Pilot in Command will have personal access to multiple non-stop, direct flights to Denver daily, facilitating seamless operational readiness and scheduling flexibility.

Position Summary

The Pilot in Command (PIC) reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot and holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of company aircraft. This includes meticulous adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures. The PIC ensures that all flight operations are conducted with precision, maintaining the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Meticulously manage duty, flight, and rest times in strict compliance with both company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with company dispatch for standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
  • Efficiently maintain and manage Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications, ensuring they are always current, secure, and fully operational.
  • Verify the currency and accuracy of all navigation charts, flight publications, and company manuals required for safe and compliant flight operations.
  • Consistently demonstrate strong, proactive decision-making skills in all phases of flight and operational scenarios, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
  • Uphold and exemplify Jet Linx’s core values in all professional interactions, fostering a positive, safe, and cohesive operational environment.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Pilot in Command position must meet the following minimum flight experience requirements:

  • Total Time: 3500 hours
  • Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 2000 hours
  • Total Time in Type (Light Jet): 250 hours
  • Total PIC Time in Type (Light Jet): 250 hours
  • Total Multi-Engine Time: 1500 hours
  • Total Multi-Engine PIC Time: 500 hours
  • Total Turbine Time: 500 hours
  • Total Instrument Time: 300 hours

Additionally, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • A valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, or the demonstrable ability to obtain one.
  • A valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • A current passport allowing unrestricted international travel, particularly to Canada and Caribbean countries.
  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • The ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment drug screen and consent to random drug/alcohol testing as required by regulatory authorities.
  • The capability to successfully complete an FAA Pilot Record Database review with a System Chief Pilot.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent extensive work experience is required.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by dynamic flight schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of initial or recurrent 142 training in type within the last 24 months is highly preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The majority of work is performed in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals, requiring adaptability to various environmental conditions. The role necessitates the ability to move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis, alongside periods of sitting, standing, and walking related to flight operations, aircraft pre-flight inspections, and passenger assistance.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting base annual salary for this Pilot in Command position ranges from $140,000 to $182,500. The actual base salary offered is contingent upon geographic location, specific aircraft size (crew positions), and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
