Pilot in Command (PIC) – Citation XLS/XLS+ Midsize Jet

This essential full-time position supports both demanding Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations based near Minneapolis, MN.
Candidates must maintain a dedicated focus on safety and superior client service, representing Jet Linx’s core values in every interaction. Successful applicants are required to reside, or be willing to relocate, within a two-hour call-out time of the designated home base.
Role Summary and Reporting Structure
The Pilot in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. The PIC is charged with the primary responsibility of preparing for and executing the safe, legal, and efficient operation of company aircraft. This includes strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs/CFRs) and established company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Minimum Professional Experience Requirements
Applicants must meet or exceed the following flight hour requirements to be considered for this Captain position:
- Total Time: 3,500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 2,000 hours
- Total Time in Type (Citation XLS/XLS+): 250 hours
- Total PIC Time in Type: 250 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 1,500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine PIC Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 500 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 300 hours
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The Pilot in Command's daily duties encompass flight preparation, execution, and post-flight administration, ensuring maximum compliance and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include:
- Diligently managing duty, flight, and rest periods in accordance with both company policy and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Maintaining consistent communication with the company operations center regarding standby assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
- Managing and ensuring the currency and operational readiness of all Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Verifying that all required navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current and accessible for all flight segments.
- Maintaining a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate without lapse.
- Demonstrating superior, proactive decision-making skills in dynamic operational environments.

Required Qualifications and Credentials
The ideal candidate possesses the following certifications and operational readiness:
- Ability to travel unrestricted to international destinations, including Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Current Passport and valid U.S. Driver's License (or ability to obtain).
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Air Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate (or ability to obtain ATP).
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and consent to random drug and alcohol testing as required by regulation.
- Ability to release and successfully pass an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review with a System Chief Pilot.
- Willingness and capacity to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, commensurate with typical charter operations.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience is required.
- Physical ability to frequently move items up to 50 pounds, with work predominantly taking place in and around aircraft and aircraft terminal environments.
- Initial or Recurrent 142 training in type (Citation XLS/XLS+) within the last 24 months is strongly preferred.
Compensation and Comprehensive Benefits Package

The starting base annual salary for the Citation XLS/XLS+ Pilot in Command ranges from $145,000 to $200,000. The actual salary offered is determined by geographic location, specific aircraft size (crew positions), and the relevant education, training, and experience of the selected candidate.
