Pilot in Command (PIC) - Citation XLS/XLS+ | Minneapolis, MN
Jet Linx is actively seeking highly qualified and dedicated candidates for the position of Pilot in Command (PIC) for our distinguished midsize jet fleet, specifically focused on the Citation XLS and XLS+ aircraft. This full-time, critical role involves executing safe and efficient Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. The successful candidate must currently reside, or be willing to relocate, within a two-hour call-out radius of the designated Minneapolis, Minnesota base.
Position Summary
The Pilot in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. The PIC is responsible for the overall safety, efficiency, and preparedness of all assigned flights in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The successful Pilot in Command will be expected to perform the following core duties:
- Ensure compliance with all duty, flight, and rest time requirements mandated by both the company and Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintain consistent and timely communication with company operations regarding standby assignments, trip notifications, position reporting, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
- Manage and maintain the electronic flight bag (EFB) hardware, software, and required applications to ensure operational readiness.
- Verify that all required navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current and accessible prior to departure.
- Maintain a current 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrate superior, proactive decision-making skills in dynamic operational environments.
- Uphold and exhibit the core values of Jet Linx in all professional interactions.
- Assume accountability for passenger comfort and security throughout all flight phases.
Minimum Flight Time Requirements
Candidates must satisfy the following minimum flight experience thresholds:
- Total Time: 3,500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 2,000 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 1,500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine PIC Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 500 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 300 hours
- Total Time in Type (Citation XLS/XLS+): 250 hours
- Total PIC Time in Type (Citation XLS/XLS+): 250 hours
Required Qualifications and Operational Standards
In addition to the minimum flight hours, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, or the immediate ability to obtain an ATP rating.
- A current 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- An FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States.
- Possession of a current passport and unrestricted ability to travel to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and submission to required random drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to authorize and successfully pass an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review with a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to operate on a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Required education includes a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent verifiable work experience.
- Physical ability to frequently move up to 50 pounds, as the majority of work is conducted in and around aircraft and aircraft terminal facilities.
Highly Desirable Qualifications
- Current Initial or Recurrent 142 training completed in the Citation XLS/XLS+ type within the last 24 months is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits Package

The starting base annual salary for this Pilot in Command position ranges from $145,000 to $200,000. The specific salary offered is commensurate with the candidate’s geographic location, aircraft size, and the relevance of their education, training, and experience.
