Jet Aviation Staffing - GVII Pilot In Command

Jet Aviation Staffing seeks a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command for a GVII aircraft. This position is based at the Flight Operations facility in Dulles, Virginia, and requires onsite presence with flexibility for occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays. The Pilot in Command is responsible for ensuring the safety of passengers and crew, as well as the comfortable and timely operation of the aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Determines aircraft airworthiness and ensures preparation for flight in accordance with all local, federal regulations, and company policies.
  • Supervises flight and ground crews during domestic and international flights under various conditions.
  • Exercises sound judgment and maintains vigilance while in flight, effectively responding to irregularities and adverse weather.
  • Manages delays, rerouting, and cancellations to ensure the safety of passengers and company property.
  • Supervises the loading of passengers, baggage, and cargo, ensuring adherence to weight and balance limits.
  • Coordinates flight planning with flight operations and scheduling personnel.
  • Keeps passengers informed of schedule changes and pertinent information.
  • Performs duties of second-in-command as assigned.
  • Actively promotes and utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles.
  • Ensures proper servicing, storage, care, security, and protection of company aircraft and equipment.
  • Reviews purchase orders, conducts post-flight inspections, and reports malfunctions.
  • Verifies flight crew fitness for duty.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Participates in the aviation Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Submits company timesheets, trip paperwork, and all required documentation promptly.
  • Maintains a high level of pilot proficiency and aeronautical knowledge.
  • Performs other general department duties as needed.

Education and Training Requirements:

  • Aeronautical experience and education enabling required skill and judgment.
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Multi-Engine Land) required.
  • At least one Turbojet Type Rating is required; GVII type is preferred.
  • College degree is preferred, but not required.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3,000 hours total time as PIC or SIC of fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Minimum of 500 hours as pilot-in-command of turbojet aircraft.
  • No restrictions on passport, VISA, or health for worldwide travel.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • FAA First Class Medical required.
  • Corporate Flight Department experience is preferred.
  • G-VII or Gulfstream Experience is strongly preferred.
  • International Flight Operations Experience is preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Must work at the Corporate Headquarters Flight Operations facility Monday through Friday and as needed weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel internationally, with a valid passport.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, integrity, honesty, and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Must live within a reasonable, commutable driving distance from the Flight Operations in Sterling, Virginia.
  • Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by start date unless medical or religious exemptions apply.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 62 pounds.
