G600 Captain, Part 91 - Commutable US
Jet Aviation Staffing, a leading aviation recruitment partner since 1983, is seeking qualified candidates on behalf of an external client for the position of G600 Captain. Jet Aviation Staffing specializes in connecting top aviation professionals with premier opportunities across flight operations, maintenance, and support disciplines, ensuring a seamless match for both candidates and clients.
This role supports a Part 91 flight operation, seeking two additional G600 pilots to enhance crew scheduling and rotation for its full-time flight department. While potentially based near KBED, this position offers the flexibility to commute from anywhere within the United States. The flight activity is approximately 70-80 flights annually, totaling around 200 flight hours, encompassing extensive worldwide travel. The addition of these roles aims to facilitate crew rotations typically ranging from 30 to 60 days.
The G600 Captain reports directly to the Lead Captain and is entrusted with the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments, prioritizing safety, security, and quality above all. The Captain exercises ultimate authority as the Pilot in Command on all assigned flights, maintaining final responsibility for safe operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possesses an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Holds a GVII Type Rating.
- A minimum of 4000 hours of Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- A minimum of 1500 hours of Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- A minimum of 2000 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- A minimum of 1500 hours of Turbojet flight time.
- A minimum of 1500 hours of Turbine flight time.
- A minimum of 100 hours of Night flight time.
- A minimum of 75 hours of Actual or Simulated Instrument time.
- Possesses at least 5 years of professional aviation experience.
- Must be available to work flexible schedules as required by operational needs.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively without any restrictions.
- Holds a valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities:
The G600 Captain is responsible for the comprehensive management and execution of flight operations, including:
- Operating the aircraft safely and efficiently, making critical decisions regarding departure times, routes, and flight cancellations based on prevailing conditions.
- Ensuring all flight operations comply strictly with federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implementing necessary operational adjustments en route to maintain flight safety and adherence to company standards.
- Conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner, aligned with industry best practices and company procedures.
- Ensuring accurate and timely completion of all required trip paperwork.
- Maintaining clear and thorough communication and understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Recording aircraft discrepancies, reporting them promptly to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) or designee, and working with the DOM to determine deferral or repair per the approved MEL.
- Confirming flight crew members report for duty properly attired and are medically and physically fit for their assignment.
- Maintaining expert knowledge of all assigned aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Securing the aircraft post-flight, coordinating hangar storage as necessary or directed by management.
- Obtaining and analyzing current weather reports, forecasts, NOTAMs, and aeronautical charts.
- Filing flight plans with the appropriate authorities (FAA, ICAO ATC).
- Serving as the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as applicable under relevant security programs.
- Conducting or assigning passenger safety briefings.
- Mentoring and developing the Second in Command, preparing them for potential PIC duties.
- Submitting required operational reports, including the leg manifest before departure and the End of Day (EOD) report upon completion of flight duties.
- Actively supporting an open safety culture by sharing information and reporting hazards or concerns.
- Reporting any hazardous actions, conduct, or events immediately to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- May delegate certain duties but retains ultimate responsibility for their successful completion.
- Performs other duties as required to support the operation.
- Represents Jet Aviation professionally internally and externally within the aviation industry and General Dynamics network.

Physical Demands:
The role involves physical activities typical of aviation operations, including frequent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The ability to use hands and fingers for controls and tasks is essential. The position requires frequently lifting and moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and moving up to 50 pounds above head level. Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, are required.
Work Environment:
The G600 Captain will operate in varied environments, including heavy maintenance facilities and upscale customer areas. Noise levels are typically moderate but can be high during aircraft arrivals/departures. The role involves exposure to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. Work is conducted in all weather conditions, and the hangar environment may experience extreme temperatures depending on the season.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $300,000 - $315,000. This range is a guideline and not a guarantee; actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, geographic location, and other pertinent requirements.
