Position Summary
The Captain plays a critical role in supporting aircraft operations, upholding the highest standards of flight safety and operational procedures. This position ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and provides professional services to Jet Aviation's esteemed clients. The Captain reports directly to the Director Flight Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo onboard.
- Verifying compliance with all operational procedures and checklists as per the Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
- Confirming that all crew members are in their designated stations prior to take-off, during final approach, and landing.
- Prohibiting any crew member from engaging in activities during critical flight phases (take-off, initial climb, final approach, landing) not directly related to the safe operation of the aircraft.
- Ensuring flight data and cockpit voice recorders are not disabled or erased unless required for incident or accident investigation and would otherwise be automatically purged.
- Coordinating work distribution within the flight crew to optimize airmanship and ensure the safe conduct of the flight.
- Maintaining precise navigation and vigilance regarding minimum altitude requirements.
- Adhering to the limitations of all aircraft systems and ensuring proper aircraft handling and operation.
- Enforcing the strict utilization of checklists.
- Confirming that sufficient usable fuel remains to reach an airport for a safe landing, with the final reserve fuel intact.
- Maintaining close communication with the cabin crew to ensure all cabin safety requirements are met.
- Ensuring the accurate completion of flight and technical logs.
- Filing written occurrence and accident reports as necessary.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant aviation regulations, Jet Aviation's operations manual (JBJH/JBJS), and agreed aviation practices.
- Upholding a high standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of the company.
- Complying with regulations stipulated in the Operations Manual (FOM) and the Air Navigation Order (ANO).
- Briefing passengers on the location of emergency exits and the use of relevant safety and emergency equipment.
- Representing Jet Aviation professionally and cohesively internally and externally, including with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with a type rating for the Bombardier Global 7500, issued by FAA, UK, or EASA.
- A minimum of 500 flight hours on the Bombardier Global 7500 type.
