Position Summary

Jet Aviation is seeking highly skilled and dedicated Captains to support aircraft operations. This pivotal role ensures the highest standards of flight safety and operational procedures are maintained, in strict compliance with all relevant regulations. Captains will provide professional services to our valued clients, reporting directly to the Director of Flight Operations. This position is integral to upholding Jet Aviation's commitment to excellence in aviation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the absolute safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo during flight operations.
  • Strict adherence to all operational procedures and checklists, as stipulated in the Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
  • Confirming that all crew members are in their designated stations during critical phases of flight: take-off, initial climb, final approach, and landing.
  • Prohibiting any non-essential crew activity during take-off, initial climb, final approach, and landing, restricting activities solely to those vital for safe aircraft operation.
  • Preventing the disabling or erasure of flight data and cockpit voice recorders, except when data preservation is necessary for incident or accident investigations and would otherwise be automatically erased.
  • Coordinating workload distribution among the flight crew to achieve optimal airmanship and ensure the safe conduct of each flight.
  • Maintaining precise navigation and diligent observation of minimum safe altitudes.
  • Respecting the limitations of all aircraft systems and ensuring the proper handling and operation of the aircraft.
  • Enforcing the rigorous use of checklists throughout all flight operations.
  • Ensuring sufficient usable fuel is on board to reach a safe landing airport with the required final reserve fuel remaining.
  • Maintaining close liaison with cabin crew to guarantee compliance with all cabin safety requirements.
  • Ensuring the accurate and complete documentation of flight and technical logs.
  • Initiating and filing written occurrence and accident reports as required.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant aviation regulations, the company's Operations Manual (FOM), and established aviation best practices.
  • Upholding a high standard of discipline, professional conduct, and appearance as a representative of Jet Aviation.
  • Complying with all regulations outlined in the Flight Operations Manual (FOM) and the Air Navigation Order (ANO).
  • Ensuring passengers receive comprehensive briefings on emergency exits and the location and use of safety and emergency equipment.
  • Representing Jet Aviation professionally, both internally and externally, in interactions with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with a current type rating for the G550 (FAA or EASA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A minimum of 500 flight hours on the specified aircraft type.
  • Experience in Air Operator Certificate (AOC) operations.

Work Environment

This role requires adaptability to work in diverse environments, from heavy maintenance hangars to upscale client reception areas. The work environment can involve moderate to loud noise levels, particularly during aircraft arrivals and departures. Employees may be exposed to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. The ability to work in all weather conditions is essential. Hangar environments may experience extreme temperatures during different seasons.
