Jet Aviation Staffing is seeking a Chief Pilot for a Part 135 operation based in Uvalde, TX. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead flight operations, oversee training programs, and ensure regulatory compliance for a leading aviation company.
About the Role
The Chief Pilot is responsible for the comprehensive leadership and supervision of flight operations personnel and training programs. This role ensures all flights are conducted safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to regulatory requirements, including Part 135 and Part 91 operations. The Chief Pilot plays a vital role in supporting the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. A key aspect of this position involves regular flight duties, serving as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on assigned flights while managing administrative responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and manage all flight operations and personnel.

Oversee pilot training programs and ensure regulatory compliance.

Actively support and promote the company's Safety Management System (SMS).

Develop and maintain aircraft checklists and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Air Carrier Operations Specifications, and company manuals.

Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for flight department staff.

Serve as PIC on scheduled and charter flights.
Requirements

Meet all FAA qualifications for Chief Pilot under 14 CFR Part 119.

Hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with the appropriate aircraft category.

Possess a Citation XLS or CE-525 type rating and operational experience.

Hold a current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.

Be qualified as a Pilot-in-Command on at least one aircraft operated by the company.

Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of:

Flight Experience: Over 7,500 hours Total Time (TT).

Aspen flying experience.

Company General Operations Manual (GOM).

Training Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

FAA Parts 91, 119, and 135.

Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Operational Control principles.

Crew Resource Management (CRM).

Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Possess robust problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Jet Insight experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous FAA-approved Chief Pilot experience.

Experience with WYVERN Wingman, IS-BAO, and Safety Management Systems.

Experience conducting pilot evaluations, line checks, and standardization programs.

Bachelor's degree in aviation, Business, Management, or a related field.

CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings.
