Jet Aviation seeks an experienced aviation professional to serve as Captain on a Gulfstream 650 within a well-established international Part 91 corporate flight department. This role is ideally suited for a big-picture professional who understands the cadence and cooperation required to successfully operate a multiple aircraft flight department.

Position Summary:
The Pilot in Command reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for adhering to company operating policies and procedures. This professional is accountable for the safe and efficient conduct of assigned flights, with a strong emphasis on safety, security, and quality. The Pilot in Command exercises full authority over all assigned flights and serves as the final authority for their safe execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operates the aircraft, determines departure times and routes, and may cancel flights based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensures the flight is conducted in complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Institutes all necessary changes required by en route conditions to ensure the flight continues under appropriate company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conducts the flight in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with industry and company standards.
- Accurately completes all trip paperwork according to current procedures.
- Ensures a thorough and complete understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Records all aircraft discrepancies on the aircraft discrepancy log as they occur and immediately reports them to the Director of Maintenance or their designee. Refers to the approved MEL and determines, as directed by the Director of Maintenance or designee, if an inoperative item can be deferred or requires repair, completing the aircraft discrepancy log as required.
- Verifies that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintains a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secures the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtains the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from an FAA flight service station or other authorized agency.
- Files or causes a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyzes area, enroute, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
- Performs the functions of the In-flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the Twelve Five Standard Security Program or Private Charter Standard Security Program as applicable.
- Conducts required passenger safety briefings or assigns the duty to the Second in Command.
- Imparts knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them to assume Pilot in Command duties in an emergency or upon upgrade.
- Completes and sends the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Completes and sends the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Takes an active role in supporting the open sharing of information on all safety issues and reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Makes an immediate report of any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- May delegate these duties but not the responsibility for those duties.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Represents Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Must obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing experience.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land experience.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command experience.
- 1500 hours Turbojet experience.
- 1500 Turbine time experience.
- 100 hours Night experience.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument experience.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules.
- Willing and able to travel worldwide extensively, without any restrictions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircraft arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. The employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extremely hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
