Jet Aviation Staffing, a leader in aviation recruitment since 1983, seeks a highly experienced and dynamic Lead Captain to oversee all aspects of flight department operations. This pivotal role demands a blend of exceptional flight skills and robust leadership capabilities, requiring a 50/50 split between flight duties and administrative responsibilities. The position offers a remote work arrangement based in the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage flight personnel, encompassing performance evaluations, recruitment, mentorship, and compensation coordination.
- Oversee pilot training programs, scheduling, and professional development, ensuring adherence to currency, line checks, and continuous training standards.
- Effectively manage flight crew schedules, vacation requests, and operational needs.
- Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Second-in-Command (SIC) for assigned aircraft, rigorously upholding crew qualification standards.
- Direct flight department audits and IS-BAO recertification processes.
- Maintain comprehensive flight department reports, guaranteeing precise and timely tracking of operational data.
- Manage diverse flight requests, ensuring meticulous compliance with client specifications.
- Collaborate closely with Maintenance Management to guarantee aircraft are meticulously maintained, serviced, and cleaned.
- Actively participate in professional development initiatives, including industry conferences and leadership training.
Qualifications:
- ATP certificate with an appropriate Corporate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum 7,000 hours of total fixed-wing flight experience.
- 7-10 years of aviation experience.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven experience in flight department management, including scheduling, training, and operational oversight.
- Ability to foster strong collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners.
