Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Lead Captain, the Pilot in Command will be responsible for upholding and adhering to all company operating policies and procedures. Safety, security, and quality remain paramount as the Pilot in Command assumes full responsibility for the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flights. This individual will exercise ultimate authority for the safe conduct of each flight, making critical decisions to ensure the well-being of all passengers and crew. Ideally, the candidate will be type-rated on the Gulfstream 600 and possess prior experience flying the Dassault Falcon 2000, as the role requires piloting both aircraft.
Minimum Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate (maintained throughout employment)
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time
- 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time
- 1,500 hours Turbine flight time
- 100 hours Night flight time
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time
- 5 years of aviation experience
- Flexible work schedule
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions
- Valid driver's license
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, including determining departure times, routes, and flight cancellations due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances
- Ensuring all flights are conducted in strict compliance with federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Implementing necessary adjustments to flight plans based on en route conditions, adhering to company policies, procedures, and regulations
- Maintaining a safe and professional flight environment, upholding industry and company standards
- Accurate and timely completion of all flight paperwork according to current procedures
- Ensuring clear and comprehensive communication with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight
- Meticulous documentation of aircraft discrepancies in the aircraft discrepancy log, promptly reporting any issues to the Director of Maintenance or designated representative
- Determining the airworthiness of the aircraft in accordance with the approved MEL (Minimum Equipment List) and consulting with the Director of Maintenance regarding necessary repairs or deferrals
- Verifying that all flight crew members report for duty in appropriate attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures
- Securing the aircraft after each flight, arranging for hangar storage as necessary or instructed by company management
- Obtaining and analyzing current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized sources
- Filing flight plans with the FAA or ICAO state ATC facility
- Thoroughly reviewing and analyzing area, en route, and terminal charts for destination and alternate airports
- Performing the duties of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as required
- Conducting or delegating passenger safety briefings
- Mentoring and training the Second in Command, preparing them to assume the role of Pilot in Command in case of an emergency or future promotion
- Submitting accurate and timely leg manifests and End of Day (EOD) reports to operations control
- Actively participating in safety initiatives, openly sharing information, and reporting any safety hazards or concerns
- Immediately reporting any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety
- Recognizing that while duties may be delegated, the ultimate responsibility for their execution remains with the Pilot in Command
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Serving as a Brand Ambassador for Jet Aviation, representing the company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
