Position Summary
Reporting to the Lead Captain, the Pilot in Command will uphold Jet Aviation's operating policies and procedures, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flights. Safety, security, and quality remain paramount, with the Pilot in Command holding final authority for the safe conduct of every flight.
Minimum Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- FAA First Class Medical (maintained throughout employment).
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbine flight time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned aircraft, making informed decisions regarding departure times, routes, and potential cancellations based on weather and other relevant conditions.
- Ensure all flights are conducted in strict accordance with federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Adapt and implement necessary changes throughout flights based on en route conditions, maintaining adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct flights safely and prudently, meeting industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork, adhering to current procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Second in Command, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of all flight aspects.
- Diligently record aircraft discrepancies in the aircraft discrepancy log, reporting them to the Director of Maintenance or designated representative promptly. Determine deferral or repair needs in accordance with the approved MEL and DOM guidance.
- Verify flight crew adherence to dress code and confirm their mental and physical fitness for duty.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all aircraft systems for authorized aircraft types, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as necessary or as directed by company management.
- Obtain and analyze current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized sources.
- File or delegate the filing of flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for intended landing and alternate airports.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the applicable Twelve Five Standard Security Program or Private Charter Standard Security Program.
- Conduct or delegate passenger safety briefings to the Second in Command.
- Mentor and train the Second in Command, preparing them for potential assumption of Pilot in Command duties in emergency situations or during upgrades.
- Timely submission of leg manifests and End of Day (EOD) reports to operations control.
- Active participation in safety initiatives, openly sharing information, and reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediate reporting of any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties while retaining responsibility for their successful completion.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and commitment.
- Represent Jet Aviation professionally as one company, internally and externally, interacting with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Physical Demands
The role demands dexterity for handling, feeling, and reaching. Frequent standing, walking, and sitting are required, with occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and moving up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally above head height is necessary. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment
The work environment encompasses both heavy maintenance settings and upscale customer areas. Moderate noise levels are typical, with occasional spikes during aircraft arrivals and departures. Exposure to vibration and fuel fumes may occur. The chosen candidate must be prepared to work in various weather conditions. Hangar environments may experience extreme temperatures during certain seasons.
