Captain - Global Express XRS (Burbank, CA)
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Captain to join its Burbank, California team. As a member of our dedicated team of aviation professionals, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Global Express XRS aircraft.
Position Summary:
The Captain reports directly to the Lead Captain, adhering to all company operating policies and procedures. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments, prioritizing safety, security, and the highest quality of service. The Captain exercises ultimate authority over all assigned flights, making final decisions to ensure the safe conduct of each operation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with an appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4,000 hours of Total Fixed Wing experience.
- 1,500 hours of Multi-Engine Land experience.
- 2,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command experience.
- 1,500 hours of Turbojet experience.
- 1,500 hours of Turbine time.
- 100 hours of Night experience.
- 75 hours of Actual or Simulated Instrument experience.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determine departure times and routes, and/or cancel flights based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensure flight operations are conducted in strict compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary changes as required by en-route conditions to maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conduct all flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
- Ensure a thorough and complete understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies on the aircraft discrepancy log and promptly report these discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance or their designee. Determine, in accordance with the approved MEL and as directed by the DOM or their designee, if the inoperative item can be deferred or needs to be repaired, completing the aircraft discrepancy log as required.
- Ensure the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized to operate, including all emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage as deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from a FAA flight service station or other authorized agency.
- File or ensure a flight plan is filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In-TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the twelve five standard security program or private charter standard security program, as applicable.
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or assign that duty to the Second in Command.
- Provide knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in an emergency or when the Second in Command upgrades to Pilot in Command in that aircraft.
- Complete and send the leg manifest to Operations Control prior to each departure.
- Complete and send the End of Day (EOD) report to Operations Control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively participate in the open sharing of information on all safety issues, reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Make an immediate report of any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties as necessary, but retain ultimate responsibility for all tasks.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Represent Jet Aviation as one company, internally and externally, with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extremely hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
Compensation Data:
The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range will be as follows: $250,000-$275,000 per year.
