About the team you are joining
Reporting to the Head, Training and Licensing, the incumbent supports and helps leading the activities and initiatives of the IATA Pilot Training and Licensing section of the OSS-Flight and Technical Operations Department.
What your day would be like

Is the secretary of the IATA Pilot Training and Licensing Task Force (PTLTF)
-
Is advisor to the panel member of the ICAO Personnel Training and Licensing Panel, providing technical expertise as required

Supports the design and implementation of pilot training and licensing standards with industry partners such as EASA, FAA, IFALPA, ICCAIA, Royal Aeronautical Society (RA&S), in the following areas, but not limited to:

Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA)

Evidence-Based Training (EBT)
-
Threat and Error Management (TEM)
-
Pilot selection
-
Initial licensing training, including ab initio
-
Advanced training, including type rating, command course, etc.

Instructor and Evaluator training
-
Role of advanced technologies in training
-
Upset prevention and recovery training
-
Participates in the development of best practices and guidance materials for pilot training and licensing

Ensures the promotion of IATA Pilot Training and Licensing initiatives and products
-
Leads the delivery of the IATA CBTA/EBT consultancy services, as directed by the Head, Training and Licensing

Assists in the development of an IATA CBTA accreditation program applicable to Approved Training Organizations

Represents IATA at conferences, industry meetings and subject matter expert groups
We would love to hear from you if

University degree in Aviation Management or equivalent work experience
-
Solid knowledge of ICAO standards and ability to develop and implement sustainable practices and procedures in civil aviation operations

Minimum 10 years’ experience as a commercial airline pilot, together with significant experience as pilot command, and experience gained within a commercial aviation training environment which may include oversight activities

Proven expertise in CBTA program such as EBT instructor, CBTA course developer, etc.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills, able to speak in public to large audiences of professionals in the aviation industry
