Role Summary

As the face of Horizon Air, representing Alaska Airlines, the Flight Attendant serves as an authentic and gracious host. This critical role demands in-depth knowledge of inflight service duties alongside comprehensive safety procedures that may be required during flight. A positive and approachable manner is essential, fostering positive interactions with both guests and fellow employees to contribute to an airline people love. This is a union represented position.

Additional Details

An audio assessment, approximately 40 minutes in length, will be required as part of the application process.

Training consists of four weeks of paid instruction held in Portland, OR.

The company maintains a specific tattoo policy for this role: No visible tattoos on the face, front of the neck, or chest are permitted. One tattoo the size of a quarter or smaller is allowed per hand. Tattoos in other areas cannot exceed the size of a credit card and must not be offensive. Employees may have one tattoo per arm, leg, foot, back of neck, or behind each ear. Tattoos on the back of the neck and behind the ears are only permitted if they are not visible when looking directly at a person. Tattoos may only be covered with a uniform piece or approved jewelry/watch; covering with makeup is not allowed.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements:

This position requires working at an airport facility or maintenance hangar, necessitating the obtainment of a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority. Employees must maintain good standing to retain their SIDA badge. Failure to qualify for a SIDA badge or the revocation of a SIDA badge will result in termination of employment.

Compensation & Benefits:

The starting rate for this position is based on the collective bargaining agreement. The first year step rate is $20.66 per hour, subject to the terms of the latest collective bargaining agreement between Horizon Air and the AFA. Pay and benefits may vary based on factors such as company, location, hours worked, length of employment, and employment status.
