The Opportunity

The Flight Attendant serves as the welcoming face of Horizon Air, representing the esteemed standards of Alaska Airlines. This role requires an individual who embodies authenticity and graciousness, acting as a host while prioritizing safety. A successful candidate possesses an in-depth understanding of inflight service protocols and safety procedures, demonstrating the ability to perform duties effectively during flights. Maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor with both guests and fellow employees is essential to contributing to an airline guests love. This position is represented by a union.

Applicants will be required to complete an audio assessment as part of the application process, which takes approximately 40 minutes.

Training consists of four weeks of paid instruction held in Portland, OR.

The company's tattoo policy allows no visible tattoos on the face, front of the neck, or chest. One tattoo per hand is permitted if it is the size of a quarter or smaller. Tattoos in other areas must not exceed the size of a credit card, be offensive, and are limited to one per arm, leg, foot, back of neck, or behind each ear. Tattoos on the back of the neck and behind the ears are only permitted if not visible when viewed directly. Tattoos may only be covered by a uniform piece or approved jewelry/watch; covering with makeup is not permitted.

Compensation & Benefits

This role's compensation is governed by the collective bargaining agreement. The first year step rate is $20.66 per contract hour.

Regulatory Information

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements: Employment requires obtaining and maintaining a SIDA badge issued by the airport authority. Failure to qualify for or loss of a SIDA badge will result in termination.

Government Contractor & Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations: Alaska Airlines & Horizon Air are regulated by the DOT. Applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, PCP, and amphetamines. Failure to submit to testing or a positive result will render the applicant ineligible for employment, and any offer will be withdrawn.
