As the public face of Horizon Air, representing Alaska Airlines, the Flight Attendant serves as an authentic and gracious host. This position requires in-depth knowledge of inflight service duties and safety procedures, which may need to be performed during flight. The Flight Attendant must demonstrate a strong desire to maintain a positive, approachable manner with guests and fellow employees, contributing to an airline people love. This is a union-represented position.

Candidates for this role will be required to complete an audio assessment during the application process, which takes approximately 40 minutes.

The position involves four weeks of paid training held in Portland, Oregon.

The company maintains a specific tattoo policy for Flight Attendants: No visible tattoos on the face, front of the neck, or chest are permitted. One tattoo the size of a quarter or smaller is allowed per hand. Tattoos in other areas cannot exceed the size of a credit card or be offensive. Employees may have one tattoo per arm, leg, foot, back of neck, or behind each ear. Tattoos on the back of the neck and behind the ears are only permitted if they are not visible when looking directly at the person. Tattoos may only be covered with a uniform piece or approved jewelry/watch; covering with makeup is not allowed.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements:

Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar are required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing to keep their SIDA badge. Failure to qualify for a SIDA badge or having a SIDA badge revoked will result in termination.

Compensation and Benefits:

The first-year step rate is $20.66 per hour, as defined by the collective bargaining agreement. Salary and benefits can vary by company, location, scheduled hours, length of employment, and employment status.
