Role Summary

As the face of Horizon Air, representing Alaska Airlines, the Flight Attendant embodies authentic hospitality and graciousness. A comprehensive understanding of inflight service duties, alongside thorough knowledge of safety procedures, is essential for this role. Key Duties

• Understands and adheres strictly to all safety regulations.
• Ensures the functionality of all safety equipment onboard the aircraft.
• Welcomes passengers, assists with seating assignments, and manages carry-on baggage stowage and security procedures.
• Explains and demonstrates the proper use of safety equipment and emergency procedures on the aircraft.
• Prepares and serves meals and beverages, including alcoholic beverages.
• Effectively promotes onboard products, such as meals and inflight entertainment, processing sales utilizing a mobile device.
• Calmly addresses passenger concerns during flight, including medical emergencies.
• Provides insightful answers to questions regarding flight operations and offers destination information.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Additional Details

• Training: Four weeks of paid training will be conducted in Portland, Oregon.
• Tattoos: Visible tattoos on the face, front of the neck, or chest are not permitted. One tattoo the size of a quarter or smaller is permissible on each hand. Tattoos in other areas cannot exceed the size of a credit card and must not be offensive in nature. Employees may have one tattoo per arm, leg, foot, back of the neck, or behind each ear. Tattoos on the back of the neck and behind the ears are only permitted if they remain concealed when looking directly at a person. Tattoos may only be covered with a uniform piece or approved jewelry/watch (covering with makeup is not allowed).

Job-Specific Experience, Education, and Skills

Required:

• A minimum of two years of customer or community service experience.
• Unwavering dedication to safety.
• Body size must not exceed specific aircraft dimensions (examples: jump seat, harness without modification, cabin aisle, and emergency exits).
• Ability to adhere to the company's grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
• Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of a Flight Attendant.
• Willingness to relocate to any of the following flight attendant bases: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA.
• Willingness to serve alcohol.
• Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
• Adaptability to perform a variety of duties and perform effectively under stress.
• Ability to attend four weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.
• Possession of a current passport with unlimited access in and out of the United States. Employees with non-U.S. passports will also require appropriate travel documentation. Must be able to fly unrestricted in and out of Canada.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 21 years old.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements

Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing to retain their badge. Please review the SIDA Badge Requirements document for comprehensive information. Failure to qualify for a SIDA badge or its subsequent revocation will result in termination of employment.
