Korean Language Qualified Flight Attendant
Hawaiian Airlines welcomes individuals to join its 'ohana as a Korean Language Qualified Flight Attendant. This position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and comfort of guests while providing exceptional service with Hawaiian hospitality.
The Flight Attendant's primary responsibility is to ensure guest safety aboard company aircraft by being capable of performing safety procedures and assisting guests during emergencies. Additionally, the Flight Attendant delivers consistent customer service during flights, including food and beverage service, while creating an unsurpassed Aloha experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend preflight briefings to review weather, routes, emergency procedures, crew coordination, flight lengths, and guest services.
- Greet and direct guests to their seats, answering flight-related questions.
- Assist guests with stowing luggage.
- Demonstrate the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Monitor the cabin to ensure guest compliance with safety regulations, addressing infractions and resolving difficult situations effectively.
- Direct and assist guests during emergency procedures, including evacuations.
- Provide consistent food and beverage service.
- Collect and reconcile payments for onboard products.
- Administer first aid as necessary.
- Prepare written and verbal reports of emergency/safety incidents.
- Prepare the aircraft and guests for landing.
- Successfully complete annual FAA-approved re-certification.
- Obtain and maintain an AOA Badge.
- Maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Work alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Interact effectively and professionally with colleagues and guests.
- Deliver an exceptional Aloha experience by responding promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints.
- Identify and escalate potential problems.
- Work in various climates and locations, including variable shifts.
- Fly at high altitudes.
- Meet the physical demands of the job.
- Assist ill or incapacitated passengers and crew members.
- Evacuate the aircraft in heavy smoke during a cabin fire.
- Handle and operate oxygen bottles and fire extinguishers.
- Remove and lift emergency cabin windows (up to 60 pounds).
- Jump down the emergency slide from a height of approximately 24.5 feet.
All outlined job duties, including emergency duties, are essential functions of the Flight Attendant role.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 21 years old at the time of application.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Present a professional image, adhering to uniform and appearance standards.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve difficult customer situations.
- Proficiently read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to proficiently speak advanced/business level Korean and read Korean characters (Hangul).
- Successfully complete an FAA-approved, unpaid eight-week intensive training program.
- Able to relocate within the state of Hawaii or the continental U.S.
- Able to be present to work alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to reach 82 inches vertically.
- Ability to sit in a cabin crew jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Ability to complete pre-employment requirements: Drug Test, tuberculosis (TB) and background check.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must possess a valid passport and be able to secure applicable visas for travel to countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
- Must possess the legal right to travel from all countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
- Travel documents must remain valid throughout all phases of training and employment.
- Must be in good standing with the company (for current employees).
Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and conducts post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of direct customer experience in the hospitality or airline industry, OR four years of customer contact and customer service issue resolution experience.
- College education or degree.
