The First Officer serves as the Second in Command, responsible for ensuring the safety of all flights and delivering an exceptional guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. This is a union-represented position.
- Perform Second in Command duties in the transport of passengers, mail, and freight for commercial purposes.
- Adhere strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations, Company Flight Procedures, and Company Policies to ensure flight safety.
- Conduct all business operations with a consistently professional manner and demeanor.
- Operate Company aircraft in accordance with established Qualification Standards and all Flight Manual operating procedures and policies.
- Communicate effectively with all required agencies and personnel, strictly following Company Communication Practices.
- Possess knowledge commensurate with an Airline Transport Pilot certificate holder, including comprehensive understanding of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM).
Alaska Airlines Seniority List Requirements
- Total Flight Time: Minimum 1,500 hours of documented flight time.
- Medical Certificate: Current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Turbine Time: Minimum 500 hours of fixed-wing turbine time (airplane and powered lift combined).
- Passport: Possess a current passport with unlimited U.S. entry/exit privileges and at least six months validity remaining at time of employment. Non-U.S. passport holders must possess appropriate travel documentation.
- Travel Ability: Ability to travel immediately and repeatedly to any domestic or international location served by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
- Pilot Certificate: FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument-Airplane rating.
- ATP Requirements: Meet all aeronautical experience requirements for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with an Airplane category rating as set forth in 14 CFR §61.159.
- ATP Written: Current ATP written examination.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Driver's License: Valid Driver’s License issued by a U.S. state or U.S. territory.
- Domicile: Ability to be based in Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; or San Francisco, CA.
- Leadership: Excellent judgment, leadership skills, demonstrated commandability, and maturity.
- Professionalism: Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Decision Making: Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
- Composure: Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Age: Minimum 23 years of age.
- Work Authorization: Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four-year degree from an accredited university.
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- 500 hours of multi-engine airplane time.
- Minimum 50 hours of flight time within the last 12 months.
- 500 hours of turbine Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
- Turbojet/turboprop experience in a complex flying environment.
Hawaiian Airlines Seniority List Requirements
- Total Flight Time: Minimum 1,500 hours of documented flight time.
- Medical Certificate: Current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Turbine Time: Minimum 500 hours of fixed-wing turbine time (airplane and powered lift combined).
- Passport: Possess a current passport with unlimited U.S. entry/exit privileges and at least six months validity remaining at time of employment. Non-U.S. passport holders must possess appropriate travel documentation.
- Travel Ability: Ability to travel immediately and repeatedly to any domestic or international location served by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
- Pilot Certificate: FAA ATP certified, Airplane Multiengine Land with English proficient endorsement required.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Driver's License: Valid Driver’s License issued by a U.S. state or U.S. territory.
- Domicile: Ability to be based in Seattle, WA; Honolulu, HI; or Cincinnati, OH.
- Leadership: Excellent judgment, leadership skills, demonstrated commandability, and maturity.
- Professionalism: Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Decision Making: Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
- Composure: Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Age: Minimum 23 years of age.

- First Year Pay Rate: $124.72 (per contract)
- Monthly Pay Guarantee: 70 hours
- Reserve Pay Guarantee: 75 hours (long call); 84 hours (short call)
Hawaiian Airlines Seniority List Pay Details:
- First Year Pay Rate: $87.00 (per contract)
- Monthly Pay Guarantee: 75 hours
- Reserve Pay Guarantee: 75 hours (long call); 75 hours (short call)
