Key Responsibilities of the Technical Instructor
The Technical Instructor will undertake a range of essential duties, including:
- Delivering compliant aircraft type courses and associated training, both online and in person, to various locations worldwide.
- Assessing training requirements and assisting in the development of appropriate training courses to align with business needs.
- Continuously developing key skills necessary for the effective delivery of advanced aircraft training courses.
- Ensuring that all training courses delivered maintain full regulatory compliance.
- Creating and authoring comprehensive training material and supporting documentation.
- Acting as an examiner for aircraft types covered by the Part-147 approval.
- Performing thorough examination analysis and reviewing the integrity of the exam question database.
- Providing vital support to the training department during both internal and external audits.
- Actively engaging in the continuous improvement of training delivery methodologies and processes.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base of all legislation relevant to technical training within the aerospace sector.
- Committing to ongoing personal professional development in technical training within the aerospace industry.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required
Essential Criteria
- Candidates must hold an aeronautical, electrical, or mechanical degree, or be a certified Part 66 Licensed Engineer, or possess a qualification in adult learning, or have demonstrative experience in providing training within the aviation sector.
- Possession of previous experience within a Part-147, Part-145, or Part-21 environment, or as an experienced Part-66 Licensed Engineer with a clear passion for knowledge transfer, or transferable instructing/teaching experience at A-level/HNC or above.
- The proven ability to conduct type rated courses on relevant aircraft types included within CAA/EASA Part 147 approval and other regulatory bodies.
- A demonstrable understanding of CAA/EASA Parts 66, 145, and 147 regulations.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, are paramount.
- High adaptability coupled with excellent planning and organisational capabilities.
- The capacity to perform effectively under pressure and to adapt to changing circumstances.
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel to other company locations as and when required.
- Eligibility to hold a CAA/EASA Form 4 position within the Part 147 organisation.
Advantageous Criteria
- Possession of a QLTS/QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience specifically with Beechcraft King Air 300 series and/or Embraer 135/145 aircraft types.
- Prior experience in the delivery of aircraft maintenance training.
- Up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of Part 147 regulations.
- Proficiency in working with associated aircraft maintenance documentation.
- Previous experience as an aeronautical type training instructor within a Part-147 environment.
