HEMS Co-Pilot Opportunity
A leading provider in the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) industry seeks a skilled and dedicated HEMS Co-Pilot to join its established team. This role operates from a state-of-the-art heliport and covers a significant operational area, ensuring the highest standards of pre-hospital medical care.
Key Responsibilities:
The HEMS Co-Pilot will be responsible for the preparation of aircraft and flight documentation, strict adherence to the Operations Manual and all associated policies and procedures, conducting daily flight briefings with the duty HEMS team, and ensuring the safe conduct of CAT flights for HEMS day/night operations under NVIS. The role demands maintaining strict time parameters and procedures in the interest of patients, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued in partnership with charity partners, delivering consistently high levels of service to customers, patients, and public supporters, and engaging with customers’ supporters, ex-patients, and participating in public liaison events while on duty.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a UK ATPL(H)/IR or CPL(H)/IR with ATPL theoretical exams, a Class 1 Medical, and have 200 hours pilot-in-command time, including 70 hours as pilot-in-command of helicopters.
Desirable Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with an AW169 Type Rating, experience in HEMS operations, experience in NVIS operations, and 1000 hours total time on helicopters.
Additional Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to pass an Enhanced DBS criminal record check.
