First Officer
Role Objective:
The First Officer serves as the second-in-command, providing essential support to the Captain. This role involves executing assigned duties, adhering strictly to instructions, and sharing responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the aircraft. The First Officer contributes significantly to the safety, security, and well-being of the crew, passengers, cargo, and equipment while consistently exemplifying integrity, leadership, and professionalism. The position demands upholding the highest operational standards and making ethical, decisive decisions in both normal and contingency operations, always operating under the Captain's ultimate authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the Captain in maintaining ultimate responsibility and accountability for the safe operation of the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo, ensuring full compliance with relevant aviation regulations, company policies and procedures, and industry standards.
- Performs delegated flight duties in accordance with company policies, aviation regulations, and safety standards, fostering professionalism and collaboration among crew members through effective leadership and Crew Resource Management (CRM).
- Executes all duties with precision and professionalism, adhering to the company's Operations Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and policies to ensure compliance and operational integrity, proposing alternative actions when necessary, guided by sound CRM principles.
- Monitors aircraft systems, performance, and navigation, promptly addressing irregularities and ensuring strict adherence to the flight plan. Identifies, documents, and reports safety incidents, SOP breaches, or operational irregularities, proactively highlighting opportunities to enhance safety and efficiency. Ensures all reports are accurate, comprehensive, and submitted through appropriate channels in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks to ensure the serviceability of emergency systems and flight deck equipment, sharing responsibility for the aircraft, passengers, crew, and operations from boarding through shut down. Oversees activities such as fueling and loading, and immediately alerts the Captain to any irregularities.
- Supports the Captain by assisting with responsibilities for the crew from the time of reporting for duty, acting in a supporting role at outstations and during layovers, and contributing to the safe and efficient management of all aspects of flight sectors until release following post-flight duties.
- Assists the Captain, who holds full accountability and responsibility for all operational decisions and the overall conduct of the flight, ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Represents the company as a brand ambassador by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and appearance while on duty and in public. Supports the Captain in ensuring the crew consistently upholds the company's corporate and brand image, reporting any inconsistencies through established mechanisms.
- Operates all flight duties in alignment with the company's commercial objectives, expertly balancing operational efficiency with an unwavering commitment to safety and compliance with all regulatory requirements, ensuring that every decision made supports the airline's mission while maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety and operational excellence.
- Stays informed on the latest aviation legislation, operational standards, and industry best practices, proactively integrating this knowledge to ensure full legal compliance, adherence to procedures, and alignment with evolving industry trends and standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Fluent in English (ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above)
- Minimum 2,500 hours total flying time
- Minimum 1,000 hours on modern (EFIS), multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft over 10 tonnes operating weight (PIC time preferable)
- Minimum 1,500 hours Multi-Pilot Aircraft (MPA) flying time
- Unrestricted Class 1 Pilot Medical Certificate from an ICAO Compliant State
- ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)

Information Security Requirements:
The First Officer reads and complies with the Information Security (ISR) policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. The role requires completing all required ISR awareness sessions and following associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
