Job Summary
Flexjet Helicopters is searching for highly skilled and dedicated First Officers to join its expanding operational team. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a growing, safety-focused, and luxury-oriented aviation enterprise, supporting the safe and efficient operation of a state-of-the-art helicopter fleet. The First Officer will play a crucial role in upholding the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
The First Officer will provide essential support to the Captain, ensuring the highest standards are maintained during all flying duties. Core responsibilities include:
- Maintaining exemplary personal standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a professional representative of Flexjet Helicopters.
- Actively supporting the Captain in fostering and maintaining a high standard of professional expertise and morale within the crew.
- Assisting the Captain in ensuring proper crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
- Executing flight-related duties in strict accordance with the Company Operations Manual, including procedures, limitations, and performance pertaining to the specific aircraft type, as allocated by the Captain.
- Volunteering pertinent advice, information, and assistance to the Captain to contribute favourably towards the safe and efficient conduct of each flight.
- Championing an open and honest Flight Safety culture, promoting effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) throughout the company, and ensuring risks are reduced to their absolute minimum. This includes submitting appropriate Company safety reports and reporting discrepancies/defects via the designated channels as required.
- Maintaining a current medical certificate as required by the Company and promptly notifying the Operations Team should any medical condition (physical or mental) potentially impair flight performance.
- Assisting the Captain with administrative duties related to the flight, as requested.
- Ensuring a high degree of crew coordination, performing all duties in a professional, efficient, and cordial manner at all times.
- Being functionally responsible to the Operations team, Head of Crew Training, and Chief Pilot for duty assignments and training protocols.
- Greeting passengers and providing assistance with seating and luggage storage in a professional and courteous manner.
- Conducting passenger briefings as required.
- Performing other duties as necessitated by business operations.
Education & Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid UK ATPL (H) or CAA CPL (H), or an EASA equivalent acceptable for validation.
- Current Instrument Rating.
- Minimum of 500 hours Rotary Total Time.
- Valid UK Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Holder of an ELP (English Language Proficiency) Rating on EASA License – minimum Level 5.
- Current type rating on S-92, AW139, S76, or AW109 aircraft.
- Ability to work weekends, nights, shifts, holidays, and undertake overnight trips.
- Must possess the legal right to work in the UK and have the ability to travel extensively within and outside of Europe, including all cities/countries served by Flexjet Helicopters.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Line Training.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Possession of an EASA ATPL (H).
- Valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Multi-Pilot (MP) experience.
- Previous experience in Commercial or Corporate aircraft operations.
- Previous Military or North Sea aviation experience.

Working Conditions
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this role. While performing the duties of this job, the First Officer will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; wet and/or humid conditions, including extreme heat and cold; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration; and chemicals, including aviation fuels and oils. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
Physical Demands
In addition to the prerequisite of holding a Class 1 Medical certificate, the Pilot must be capable of completing the day-to-day tasks associated with the operation of a helicopter. This includes, but is not limited to, the loading and unloading of baggage, conducting thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections, assisting with snow removal during inclement weather, installation and removal of engine covers, and the daily internal and external cleaning of aircraft as required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move heavy baggage, potentially in excess of 20 kgs.
