First Officer / Pilot, European Flight Operations
Position Summary
The First Officer operates as an integral member of the flight crew, tasked with piloting assigned Flexjet aircraft for both domestic and international missions. This critical role ensures the highest standard of safety and efficiency for Flexjet owners and passengers throughout their scheduled rotation, upholding the company’s reputation for excellence in private aviation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The First Officer is functionally responsible to the Captain during all flight duties and must maintain an exemplary standard of professional conduct, discipline, and personal appearance as a representative of the Company. The successful candidate executes duties in adherence to Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specific aircraft type limitations, and performance criteria as directed by the Captain.
Operational and Safety Mandates:
- Actively supports the Captain in cultivating and maintaining superior professional expertise and morale within the flight crew.
- Proactively provides timely advice, information, and assistance to the Captain to ensure the safe and efficient conduct of all flights.
- Reports all known or suspected violations, discrepancies, or incidents promptly to the Fleet Manager.
- Maintains strict compliance with all applicable EASA and UK Aviation Regulations.
- Conducts duties with a high degree of crew coordination, ensuring all interactions are professional, efficient, and cordial.
- Completes administrative duties related to flight preparation and closure, as requested by the Captain.
Client Service and Compliance:
- Greets passengers professionally, assists with passenger seating, and ensures secure luggage storage.
- Conducts comprehensive passenger briefings as required.
- Ensures all required medical certificates are current and notifies the Fleet Manager immediately should any physical or mental condition potentially impair flight performance.
Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates must possess the requisite experience and licensing credentials necessary for demanding international corporate aviation operations. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Mandatory Flight Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid EASA ATPL (UK CAA ATPL and Medical certificate are desirable but not mandatory).
- A minimum of 2,500 hours Total Time flight experience.
- A minimum of 500 hours Pilot in Command Under Supervision (PICUS) time.
- A minimum of 250 hours Multi Pilot Instrument Time.
- Must hold a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME-IR) (A) on the EASA License.
- Must possess an MCC Course certificate or an MP Rating on the EASA License.
- Must hold an advanced UPRT qualification or have successfully completed the relevant training and checking within the preceding three years, in accordance with points ORO.FC.220 or ORO.FC.230 of Annex III (Part-ORO) to Regulation (EU) NO 965-2012.
- Possession of a valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- English Language Proficiency (ELP) must be at a minimum of Level 5.
Additional Requirements:
- Previous experience in Commercial Air Transport and Corporate operations is highly desirable.
- The Pilot must possess the legal right to work within Europe and/or the UK, coupled with the ability to travel freely in and out of Europe and to all destinations served by Flexjet globally.
- The role demands flexibility and the ability to operate during weekends, nights, shifts, holidays, and on extended overnight trips.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of Initial Training, which includes securing a Type Rating on the assigned fleet aircraft.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
The work environment is characteristic of professional aviation operations. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to operational hazards including moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures (heat and cold), humid conditions, high and precarious places, outside weather elements, and vibration. Exposure to chemicals, including aviation fuels and lavatory fluid, is standard. The noise level in the operational work environment is typically loud.
In addition to meeting the stringent standards required for holding a Class 1 Medical certificate, the First Officer must be able to execute all day-to-day tasks associated with airplane operation. This includes, but is not limited to, the physical loading and unloading of passenger baggage, completion of thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections, assistance with snow and ice removal during inclement weather, installation and removal of engine covers, and necessary daily aircraft cleaning. The employee must occasionally be capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 23 kilograms (50 lbs).
