Overview
Fiji Link, Fiji's domestic airline, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced aviation professional to join its esteemed flight operations team as a DHC-6 (Twin Otter) Captain. This critical role involves commanding the DHC-6 aircraft, ensuring the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and passenger comfort across Fiji Link's expansive network within the beautiful Fijian islands.
The Role
The DHC-6 Captain is directly responsible for the safe, professional, and efficient conduct of all flights. This individual will serve as the ultimate authority on board the aircraft, leading the flight crew, making critical operational decisions, and meticulously adhering to all aviation regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures. The Captain upholds Fiji Link’s unwavering commitment to safety, compliance, and excellence in customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Command DHC-6 (Twin Otter) aircraft on scheduled passenger, cargo, and charter flights.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers, crew members, and aircraft operations at all times.
- Exercise sound judgment and leadership in diverse and dynamic operational environments.
- Effectively lead and manage the flight deck crew, fostering a professional, cooperative, and high-performance atmosphere.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, performance, limitations, and emergency procedures.
- Strictly adhere to Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF) regulations, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, and all Fiji Link operational manuals and procedures.
- Complete all required flight documentation accurately and promptly.
- Represent Fiji Link with the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holds a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with a DHC-6 type rating (or possesses equivalent qualifications and experience for immediate type endorsement).
- Possesses a current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrates significant flight experience, including a substantial number of hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on multi-engine turbine aircraft, preferably the DHC-6 Twin Otter.
- Exhibits strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and continuous operational improvement.
- Possesses the legal eligibility to live and work in Fiji, which is highly advantageous.
