Position Overview
Executive Jet Management is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Pilot in Command (PIC) position to operate a Learjet 45XR based in Nashville, Tennessee. This is a vital role within a dedicated three-pilot account, typically flying between 400 and 450 hours per year under EJM's stringent Part 135 certificate. This position is open to home-based candidates with feasible commuting options to the Nashville area. The Pilot in Command holds the ultimate authority and responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The PIC is expected to meticulously comply with all company procedures and regulatory requirements while simultaneously delivering an exceptional service experience to passengers.
Key Responsibilities
The Pilot in Command performs a variety of critical tasks centered on ensuring flight safety, delivering superior service, and maintaining operational compliance.
- Ensuring Safe Operation of Flight:
- Ensures all crewing and trip assignments fully comply with both company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes all necessary flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assigned flight.
- Leads all required briefings, utilizing the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) methodology to effectively identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Strictly adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintains close coordination with company personnel. Assumes responsibilities as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Completes thorough aircraft pre-flight inspections, including verifying the maintenance status of the aircraft, to confirm its mission capability. Records all aircraft discrepancies accurately according to company SOPs.
- Monitors and ensures all aircraft ground servicing requirements (such as fueling, oil, and oxygen) are accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
- Conducts comprehensive passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and applicable regulations. Delivers the highest level of customer service, accommodating any special needs of passengers, including those with physical challenges.
- Effectively utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to ensure clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides premium service to aircraft owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the overall EJM service experience. Routinely investigates and resolves any service deviations.
- Collaborates seamlessly with fellow crew members and internal EJM departments to ensure a consistently high level of service for owners and passengers. Addresses conflicts and challenges constructively and acceptably.
- Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Ensures all required regulatory and company training remains current and maintains necessary recency of experience.
- Fully complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program, reporting any safety concerns or non-compliance issues through the appropriate established channels.
Qualifications and Requirements
Prospective candidates for this Pilot in Command role should meet the following criteria:
- Possess prior experience in Part 135 flight operations.
- An FAA Type Rating for the Learjet 45XR is highly preferred.
- Must be physically capable of performing all essential functions required for the position.
- Meet the following minimum flight time requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- Pilot in Command Multi Engine Land (PIC MEL): 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
