Pilot in Command – Gulfstream G600 – Boca Raton, FL
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a leader in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Gulfstream G600 based at Boca Raton Airport (KBCT). This Part 91 operation supports a single family with a long-standing history of aircraft ownership, providing a rewarding and stable career opportunity. The PIC will be part of a three-pilot rotation, fostering a healthy work-life balance.
Purpose of the Position:
The PIC holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the aircraft. This encompasses adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to the aircraft owners and passengers. The primary flight profile is domestic, with limited international travel (one or two trips annually). While the schedule is not fixed, the three-pilot rotation allows for predictable downtime. Ideal candidates are safety-conscious, service-oriented team players with meticulous attention to detail. Local residency in South Florida, or willingness to relocate, is required. This is not a home-based position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Ensures all crewing and trip assignments fully comply with company and regulatory standards.
- Executes comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance assessments for each flight.
- Employs Threat, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Adheres strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintains effective coordination with internal personnel. Serves as the Ground and In-Flight Security Coordinator as outlined in company policy.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight aircraft inspections, verifying maintenance status and mission readiness. Documents all discrepancies according to established SOPs.
- Oversees and ensures all ground servicing requirements (fueling, oil, oxygen) are completed in accordance with SOPs.
- Delivers comprehensive passenger briefings, adhering to company policy and regulations, and provides exceptional customer service, catering to diverse passenger needs, including those with physical limitations.
- Leverages Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles for clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel across all operational phases.
Providing Exceptional Service:
- Consistently delivers high-quality service to owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Proactively investigates and resolves any service shortcomings.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal teams to maintain a seamless and consistent service delivery. Demonstrates effective conflict resolution skills.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains current certifications and licenses, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and company-mandated training and recency requirements.
- Complies fully with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program, reporting any safety concerns or non-compliance issues through the designated channels.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- 8-10 years of professional flight experience
- Extensive experience operating heavy-cabin Gulfstream aircraft (GV, GVI, or GVII); strong preference given to GVII-rated pilots.
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is mandatory.
- Must be able to fulfill all essential functions of this position.
Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
