Purpose of Position
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is actively recruiting qualified candidates for a Pilot in Command (PIC) position supporting Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600 aircraft. This operation is based in Charlotte, North Carolina (KCLT) and is part of a six-pilot account operating under Part 135 regulations. The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner, adhering to all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional service experience to passengers.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:
- Verify crewing and trip assignments comply with all company and regulatory mandates.
- Execute comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Utilize the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead essential briefings and proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Adhere strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinate effectively with relevant company personnel.
- Serve as the Ground Security Coordinator and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Perform all required aircraft pre-flight tasks, including a thorough assessment of the aircraft's maintenance status, to confirm mission capability. Document all aircraft discrepancies according to company SOPs.
- Oversee and ensure the accomplishment of all aircraft ground servicing items, such as fueling and fluid replenishment, in strict accordance with SOPs.
- Conduct passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and regulatory standards, prioritizing the delivery of the highest level of customer service and accommodating special passenger needs, including those of physically challenged individuals.
- Employ Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to facilitate clear and timely communication with crew members and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provide superior service to aircraft owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
- Investigate and resolve service deviations promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate seamlessly with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent and high-quality service experience for owners and passengers.
- Resolve conflicts and address challenges in an acceptable and professional manner.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintain all regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Actively participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and report any safety or non-compliance concerns through the designated channels.
Qualifications and Experience
Years of Experience:
- A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant aviation experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is strongly preferred.
- Must possess an FAA Type Rating in the applicable fleet.
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 3,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
