Position Overview

The Flight Attendant plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of all passengers aboard Envoy Air flights. This position requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage diverse situations with confidence and poise. Flight Attendants are responsible for providing exceptional passenger service, adhering to all safety regulations, and contributing to efficient flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet, direct, and provide assistance to passengers throughout their journey.
  • Deliver clear and concise public announcements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety requirements and federal regulations.
  • Maintain passenger safety and comfort at all times.
  • Demonstrate leadership and professionalism in handling inquiries, operational changes, and emergency situations.
  • Provide calm and clear instructions during emergencies, including passenger evacuation procedures.
  • Assist passengers with special needs, including unaccompanied minors.
  • Effectively de-escalate challenging situations involving disorderly or irate passengers.
  • Provide care and assistance to ill, injured, or incapacitated passengers, administering first aid as required by regulations.
  • Perform duties within the confined spaces of aircraft aisles and galleys.
  • Adapt to a dynamic work environment characterized by frequent changes in flight schedules, weather conditions, and operational demands.
  • Complete all assigned responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner to ensure on-time departures and arrivals.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Height between 5'0" and 6'0" (without shoes).
  • Ability to fit into a jump seat harness and seat belt without modification.
  • Possession of a valid passport with unrestricted legal right to travel to and from all countries served by Envoy.
  • Meet all requirements for entry and exit into Canada, including a clean criminal history for the past five years.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Willingness and availability to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and up to four consecutive overnights.
  • Physical ability to push, pull, twist, turn, and lift equipment, carts, and doors of varying weights.
  • Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance in compliance with uniform standards.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a valid, unexpired, and unsuspended REAL ID-compliant state driver's license or passport.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
  • Access to reliable high-speed internet and a computer/device capable of downloading Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of hospitality experience in the hotel, restaurant, or retail industries.
  • Previous work experience in roles requiring face-to-face public interaction.
  • A college degree.

Additional Details:

  • Tattoos and body art must not be visible while in uniform or attending company training.
  • Body piercings are limited to single ear piercings; all other piercings must not be visible.
  • Extreme hair or nail colors/styles are not permitted.
  • All government-issued identification must match the name on the passport.
  • Willingness to attend unpaid training in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.
  • Upon training completion, willingness to relocate without reimbursement to an assigned crew base (Chicago, IL; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Miami, FL; Phoenix, AZ).
  • Crew base assignments are based on seniority and operational needs.
  • Wages are governed by the contract between Envoy and the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA).
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks for SIDA access privileges, if applicable.
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, and clear other airport-related requirements, if applicable.
  • Envoy is required by federal law to determine an applicant's history of DOT drug and/or alcohol violations or refusals before hiring into a safety-sensitive position.
