General Overview
This position, reporting to the Chief Pilot, offers a guaranteed minimum of seventy-two (72) hours per month. The successful candidate will hold a type rating on multi-engine aircraft, with preference given to those with a B-737 type rating and a first-class medical certificate. A thorough understanding of all relevant Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) is essential. Excellent communication skills are required, as the candidate will collaborate with team members and customers in a fast-paced environment while upholding the company's core values.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a First Officer, the individual will work alongside the Captain to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, safeguarding passengers and cargo. The First Officer will guide and coordinate the activities of all personnel involved in every phase of the flight.
- Reporting operationally to the Captain on all flights.
- Maintaining a current first-class medical certificate and promptly notifying the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, or designee of any medical condition (physical or mental) that may hinder flight duties.
- Performing all flight duties assigned by the Captain.
- Assuming the authority to act on behalf of the Captain in the event of their incapacitation.
- Possessing a thorough understanding of the Captain's duties and responsibilities, accepting delegated tasks as directed by the Captain.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Minimum of 2,000 hours of total flying time, with at least 500 hours operating a turbojet aircraft.
- Valid FAA ATP License.
- Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Valid Driver's License.
- English proficiency consistent with at least ICAO Level 4 endorsement.
- Passport allowing travel worldwide.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Impeccable safety and training record.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that will enhance your candidacy include:
- Previous experience on a wide-body aircraft.
- CRM (Crew Resource Management) experience.
Home Base Location
First Officers are considered "Home-Based" with the following guidelines:
- Residing within the continental 48 states east of Denver. Denver and Colorado Springs are acceptable home bases.
- Designating a home airport within 2 hours of surface travel from their home.
- Choosing a home airport served by two major airlines (Delta, American, United, or Southwest) with a minimum of three flights per day. Seasonal airports with increased frequency during certain periods are acceptable.
- Understanding that changes to home base may be required if airport frequency decreases.
- Being responsible for all parking and ground transportation costs associated with their home base.
- Adhering to all reserve rules regarding report time and distance to the airport.
