Job Summary:

Magic takes flight when you join the Disney Aviation Group as our next Director, Chief Pilot. As the Director, Chief Pilot, you will be part of a team of aviation experts helping to bring unforgettable experiences to people around the globe.

The Disney Aviation Group is seeking an experienced Aviation leader who will be responsible for the safety of all flight operations and the professional standards of the flight crews. We are looking for someone with deep aviation knowledge as well as a proven people leader who will drive a positive team culture and develop the future leaders of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and amend S.O.P’s accordingly to meet the company’s aircraft missions.
• Continuously monitor changes within the corporate aviation industry
• Maintain safe, cost-effective flight operation.
• Foster communication and integration across the organization and maintain a level of excellence.
• Maintain a forward-looking approach to stay aligned with the Company’s mission
• Plan and schedule all crewmembers’ required FAA simulator training and other crewmembers’ professional development
• Maintain a reduced flight schedule (50% of typical Pilot Captain schedule) while evaluating flight crewmembers’ skills and procedures
• Ensure departmental compliance of the Federal Aviation Regulations and department’s Standard Operating Procedures
• Overall monitoring and promotion of the Safety Management System and taking an active role in partnership with the Safety Officer in all Safety Management System audits .
• Manage/oversee the daily operations of the flight department including, FAR part 91 flight operations, fostering communications between flight crews and Scheduling, and work in close partnership with the Director of Maintenance - Serve as the leader for the corporate flight department when the VP Flight Operations is flying or out of office.
• Maintain visibility of overall operating budgets and interface with other departments within the corporate structure to assure compliance with company policy – with primary responsibility for the pilot and flight engineer training budget.
• Mentor and develop pilot and Flight Technician teams – oversee onboarding and regularly evaluate skills of the team.

Basic Qualifications:

• A minimum of 10 years aviation experience
• 5 years of PIC jet experience ; 8 years + preferred
• Previous leadership experience as Chief Pilot or equivalent experience managing a team of aviation professionals
• General Microsoft Skills (word, excel, outlook)

Required Education

• Associates Degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot License with type ratings on Gulfstream aircraft

Preferred Education

• Aviation Certified Flight Instructor
• Type rated on G650
