Assistant Chief Pilot
Contour Airlines is seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Pilot to join their team in a full-time capacity. This role offers pilot leadership across all domiciles and involves serving as an active crewmember, reporting directly to the Chief Pilot. The successful candidate will ensure safe and efficient flight operations, drive continuous improvement, and maintain pilot standards.
About the Role
The Assistant Chief Pilot assumes the duties of the Chief Pilot in their absence and provides guidance, coaching, and mentoring to pilots across all divisions. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations, company policies, and operational specifications. The role also involves maintaining the required number of qualified flight crew members and conducting line supervisory flying to uphold pilot professionalism and standards.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise company pilots to ensure safe flight operations in accordance with applicable CFRs, Operations Specifications, Company policies, Pilot Work Rules, and procedures.

Ensure flight operations comply with Company policies and all relevant regulations.

Maintain the necessary number of qualified flight crew members for reliable flight operations.

Conduct line supervisory flying to ensure pilot professionalism and adherence to standards.

Uphold the highest standards of performance, image, and conduct for pilots, ensuring compliance with Company policy regarding appearance, attendance, and personal conduct.

Administer disciplinary action in coordination with Flight Operations management and Human Resources.

Conduct pilot interviews and perform other assigned duties.

Assist with administrative requirements of the Chief Pilot's Office and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Encourage employee suggestions for process improvements and error reporting.

Represent the Company in government, industry, and community activities.

Maintain current knowledge of the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, and applicable federal regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements

Qualified through training, experience, and expertise consistent with 14 CFR 119.69 and 119.71.

Delegated the authority and duties of the Chief Pilot and assumes Chief Pilot duties in the Chief Pilot’s absence.

Delegated limited authority for operational control of flight operations by the Director of Operations.
