Contour Airlines is seeking a qualified Assistant Chief Pilot to join their team in a full-time capacity. This leadership role involves providing pilot guidance and support across all company domiciles while also functioning as an active crewmember.
About the Role
The Assistant Chief Pilot, reporting directly to the Chief Pilot, is empowered to assume the Chief Pilot's responsibilities and duties in their absence. This position is instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of flight services across all Contour domiciles, acting as an active crewmember. The role necessitates a deep understanding of aviation regulations and best practices, aligning with 14 CFR 119.69 and 119.71. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement in flight operations and pilot standards, thereby enhancing compliance and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise company pilots to ensure adherence to safety regulations, Operations Specifications, Company policies, and Pilot Work Rules.

Oversee flight operations to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and foreign regulations and Company policies.

Maintain an adequate number of qualified flight crew members to support reliable flight operations.

Conduct line supervisory flying to ensure pilot professionalism and adherence to established standards.

Uphold the highest standards of performance, image, and conduct for pilots, ensuring compliance with Company policy regarding appearance, attendance, and personal conduct.

Administer disciplinary actions in collaboration with Flight Operations management and Human Resources.

Conduct pilot interviews and fulfill other assigned duties.

Support the administrative functions of the Chief Pilot's Office and execute other administrative tasks as directed by the Chief Pilot.

Promote a culture of process improvement and error reporting among employees.

Represent the Company in governmental, industry, and community engagements.

Maintain current knowledge of the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, and relevant federal regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Delegated Authority

The Assistant Chief Pilot is delegated limited authority for operational control of flight operations by the Director of Operations.

The Assistant Chief Pilot is delegated the authority and duties of the Chief Pilot and will assume these responsibilities in the Chief Pilot's absence.
