Contour Airlines is seeking a qualified Assistant Chief Pilot to join their team in a full-time capacity. This leadership role provides pilot guidance and support across all company domiciles, ensuring safe and efficient flight operations while also serving as an active crewmember.
About the Role
The Assistant Chief Pilot reports directly to the Chief Pilot, assuming the Chief Pilot's duties in their absence. This position is instrumental in providing pilot leadership, guidance, and mentoring to all Contour divisions. The successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of flight operations processes and pilot standards, enhancing compliance and operational effectiveness. This role requires qualifications consistent with 14 CFR 119.69 and 119.71.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise company pilots to ensure safe flight operations in accordance with CFRs, Operations Specifications, Company policies, and procedures.

Ensure flight operations comply with Company policies and applicable federal, state, local, and foreign regulations.

Maintain the required number of qualified flight crew members for reliable flight operations.

Conduct line supervisory flying to uphold pilot professionalism and standards.

Maintain high standards of performance, image, and conduct for pilots, ensuring compliance with Company policy.

Administer disciplinary action in coordination with Flight Operations management and Human Resources.

Conduct pilot interviews and perform other assigned duties.

Assist with administrative requirements of the Chief Pilot's Office.

Encourage employee suggestions for process improvements or error reporting.

Represent the Company in government, industry, and community activities.

Maintain current knowledge of the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, and applicable federal regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Delegated Authority

Delegated limited authority for operational control of flight operations by the Director of Operations.

Delegated the authority and duties of the Chief Pilot, assuming Chief Pilot duties in the Chief Pilot’s absence.
