Contour Airlines is seeking a qualified Assistant Chief Pilot to join their team. This full-time position, based at various Contour domiciles, involves providing pilot leadership and serving as an active crewmember.
About the Role
The Assistant Chief Pilot reports to the Chief Pilot and assumes the Chief Pilot's responsibilities in their absence. This role requires a deep understanding of aviation regulations and operational best practices. The successful candidate will offer guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure safe and efficient flight operations, while also driving improvements in flight operations processes and pilot standards. This position involves active crewmember duties and requires qualifications consistent with 14 CFR 119.69 and 119.71.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise company pilots to ensure adherence to safety regulations, Operations Specifications, and Company policies.

Ensure flight operations comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and foreign regulations.

Maintain adequate numbers of qualified flight crew members to meet operational demands.

Conduct line supervisory flying to uphold pilot professionalism and standards.

Enforce high standards of pilot performance, image, and conduct.

Administer disciplinary actions in coordination with management and Human Resources.

Conduct pilot interviews and perform other assigned duties.

Support the Chief Pilot's Office with administrative tasks.

Encourage employee suggestions for process improvements and error reporting.

Represent the Company in governmental, industry, and community activities.

Maintain current knowledge of the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, and relevant federal regulations.
Requirements

Qualified through training, experience, and expertise consistent with 14 CFR 119.69 and 119.71.

Ability to provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to pilots.

Experience in driving continuous improvement of flight operations processes and pilot standards.

Delegated authority from the Director of Operations for limited operational control.

Delegated the authority and duties of the Chief Pilot.
