CanWest Air is seeking qualified individuals to join our team as First Officers, operating the state-of-the-art Cessna C208B aircraft.

We operate one of Canada's largest and most modern fleets of Cessna C208Bs and Beechcraft King Airs, offering pilots the opportunity to fly advanced aircraft in diverse locations.

We are committed to providing pilots with exciting career progression opportunities. On average, pilots can expect to upgrade to a C208B Caravan Captain within 1-2 years, and to a King Air Captain within 3-4 years. Pilots will be assigned to one of ten crew bases: Edmonton, Calgary, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Peace River, Lac La Biche, Slave Lake, Fort Vermilion, High Level, or Medicine Hat. Initial roles typically commence as a First Officer on the Cessna C208B.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • 200 hours of fixed-wing flying time.
  • Ability to pass the Transport Canada medical and visual acuity requirements for a Category 1 medical certificate.
  • Current Canadian Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with a Group 1 (Multi-engine) Instrument Rating.
  • Canadian passport or permanent resident status.
  • Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada and travel without restriction to the United States.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver License (or equivalent).
  • Valid First Aid Certificate (Basic + CPR, or equivalent).

Previous IFR, multi-crew, and turbine time will be considered an asset.

Candidates are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations necessary for employment.
