Flight Attendant

Calm Air International, a regional airline serving Northern Central Canada, is seeking a highly motivated and well-organized Flight Attendant to join their dynamic team. Operating from main bases in Winnipeg, Thompson, Churchill, Manitoba, and Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, Calm Air provides frequent scheduled passenger, charter, and cargo flights. This full-time position offers an immediate start and the opportunity to work across various bases in Manitoba and Nunavut.

The Flight Attendant is at the forefront of Calm Air, responsible for creating a safe and outstanding experience for every guest. This role involves ensuring the safety and security of passengers, crew, and the aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the aircraft for customer boarding.
  • Participate in crew briefings.
  • Complete all pre-flight safety checks.
  • Communicate with customers through individual interaction and public announcements.
  • Assist customers with carry-on baggage, seating, and overall comfort.
  • Handle in-flight incidents and emergencies.
  • Manage medical emergencies and provide first aid.
  • Maintain communication with the captain regarding any factors impacting flight safety, passengers, or crew.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and regulations, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
  • Complete and submit required operational and safety reports.
  • Communicate customer feedback to management.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Legal age to serve alcohol in Manitoba and Nunavut.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency in multitasking.
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Valid Canadian passport and ability to travel.
  • Ability to obtain a restricted area pass through WAA.
  • Must meet Transport Canada Security Clearance Regulations.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Previous aviation experience is an asset.
  • Completion of Flight Attendant Academy or In-flight Instruction online Training Program-CT201 prior to employment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Airport Identification Card (RAIC).
  • Preference will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries.
  • Fluency in Inuktitut is considered an asset.

Calm Air endorses the Inflight Institute, and candidates possessing a certificate of completion will be given preferential consideration.
