Position Summary
The Flight Attendant is an essential member of the Air Canada Rouge cabin crew, responsible for ensuring an exceptional and safe onboard experience for all passengers. This role requires a commitment to safety, outstanding customer service, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly prepare the aircraft for departure, ensuring a safe, smooth, and comfortable journey for all passengers.
- Extend a warm and genuine welcome to customers, maintaining a positive and energetic atmosphere throughout the flight.
- Deliver professional and engaging onboard announcements and essential information.
- Cultivate a friendly, calm, and comfortable cabin environment, adept at managing diverse passenger needs and situations.
- Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and provide comprehensive support to fellow cabin crew members for seamless operations.
- Efficiently provide snack, meal, and beverage services, including alcoholic beverages, and manage onboard product sales.
- Assist passengers with in-flight entertainment systems and resolve any technical issues.
- Provide support with carry-on luggage stowage, seating adjustments, and addressing passenger comfort requirements.
- Confidently and competently manage onboard incidents and emergencies.
- Respond to medical situations, including the administration of First Aid when necessary.
- Maintain the cabin's cleanliness, tidiness, and overall presentation.
- Act as a dedicated brand ambassador, contributing valuable feedback to leadership to continuously elevate the Air Canada Rouge experience.
- Complete all required safety and service reports accurately after each flight.
Qualifications and Requirements
Qualified candidates for the Flight Attendant position must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Possession of a high school diploma.
- Hold a valid Canadian passport without travel restrictions.
- Reside within a 90-minute commuting distance of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) or be willing to relocate.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transport Canada security clearance.
- Consistent access to the internet for viewing scheduling updates and internal communications.
- Comfortable working in a high-altitude, pressurized cabin environment.
- Ability to meet Air Canada Rouge's stringent medical standards for safety-critical work, which includes a comprehensive medical evaluation and drug and alcohol screening. Candidates must be free of intoxicating substances.
- Successful completion of the mandatory 6-week, full-time Air Canada Rouge Flight Attendant Initial Technical Training Program in Vancouver.
Language Skills
Proficiency in both English and French is highly preferred. Additional preference will be extended to candidates fluent in English and any of the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Greek, Italian, Hebrew, Japanese, German, Punjabi, Hindi, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, and Thai.
