Role Summary

The Flight Attendant plays a pivotal role in delivering Air Canada Rouge's renowned in-flight experience. The Flight Attendant acts as a key brand ambassador, contributing significantly to a positive and memorable journey for every customer.

Key Responsibilities of the Flight Attendant

  • Preparing the aircraft cabin for departure, ensuring all safety and comfort standards are meticulously met for a smooth journey.
  • Greeting customers with genuine warmth and maintaining a positive, welcoming atmosphere from boarding to disembarkation.
  • Delivering clear, professional, and personable in-flight announcements and essential information.
  • Cultivating a friendly, calm, and comfortable cabin environment, adept at engaging with diverse passenger needs, from reassuring nervous travelers to celebrating special occasions.
  • Strictly adhering to all safety procedures and actively collaborating with fellow cabin crew members to ensure operational efficiency and passenger well-being.
  • Providing comprehensive snack, meal, and beverage service, including the responsible serving of spirits and alcoholic drinks, and efficiently managing onboard product sales.
  • Assisting customers with in-flight entertainment systems and promptly troubleshooting minor technical issues.
  • Facilitating carry-on baggage stowage, managing seating adjustments, and addressing passenger comfort needs throughout the flight.
  • Handling onboard incidents and emergencies with confidence, composure, and a strong focus on passenger care.
  • Responding effectively to medical situations, including administering First Aid when necessary.
  • Maintaining the cabin's cleanliness, tidiness, and professional appearance at all times.
  • Acting as a dedicated brand ambassador by providing valuable feedback to leadership, contributing to the continuous elevation of the Air Canada Rouge experience.
  • Completing all required safety and service reports accurately and promptly after each flight.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must hold a valid Canadian passport without travel restrictions.
  • Residency within 90 minutes of Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) or willingness to relocate is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Transport Canada security clearance.
  • Consistent access to reliable internet is necessary for reviewing scheduling changes and internal communications.
  • Comfort and capability to work effectively in a high-altitude, pressurized cabin environment are essential.
  • Ability to successfully meet Air Canada Rouge's medical standards for the role, including passing a comprehensive medical evaluation and drug and alcohol screening. A commitment to maintaining an intoxicant-free state is paramount for aviation safety.
  • Successful completion of Air Canada Rouge's mandatory 6-week, full-time Flight Attendant Initial Technical Training Program in Montréal.

Language Proficiency

Fluency in both English and French is highly preferred. Additionally, strong preference will be given to candidates who possess proficiency in any of the following languages, in addition to English: Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Greek, Italian, Hebrew, Japanese, German, Punjabi, Hindi, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Korean.
