Calm Air International is seeking a highly motivated and well-organized individual to join their team as a Flight Attendant. This full-time position is based in Winnipeg, MB, with an immediate start date.

Calm Air International is a regional airline serving Northern Central Canada, operating frequent daily scheduled passenger, charter, and cargo flights throughout Manitoba and the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut. The company values its customers, passengers, and the communities they serve.

Responsibilities:

Flight Attendants are at the forefront of the company, creating exceptional experiences for every guest. They are responsible for the safety and security of passengers, crew members, and the aircraft. Their duties include:

  • Preparing the aircraft for customer boarding.
  • Participating in crew briefings.
  • Completing all pre-flight safety checks.
  • Communicating with customers through personal interaction and intercom announcements.
  • Assisting customers with varying needs, including carry-on baggage, seating requirements, and general comfort.
  • Handling in-flight incidents and emergencies.
  • Managing in-flight medical emergencies and providing first aid when required.
  • Maintaining communication with the captain regarding any circumstances affecting the flight, aircraft, passengers, or crew.
  • Performing duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and best practices for safety, efficiency, and economy.
  • Executing responsibilities in a manner compliant with Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards.
  • Completing and submitting all required operational and safety reports.
  • Ensuring customer feedback is communicated to management.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Legal age to serve alcohol in Manitoba and Nunavut.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Individual initiative and detail orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid Canadian passport.
  • Ability to obtain a restricted area pass through WAA.
  • Ability to meet Transport Canada Security Clearance Regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Previous aviation experience is considered an asset.
  • Completion of the Flight Attendant Academy or the In-flight Instruction online Training Program-CT201 prior to employment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Airport Identification Card (RAIC).
  • Preference given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries.
  • Inuktitut language proficiency is considered an asset.

Calm Air endorses the Inflight Institute, and candidates must possess a certificate of completion prior to entering training. Preferred consideration will be given to candidates who possess or are pursuing a certificate.
